Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Isaac Cruz | Showtime PPV - December 5, 2021
i actually like cruz a lot and have seen hims tons, dating back to before he became a bit of a shobox level name. little tiny guy who fightss his heart out. has some power. he could be in a lot of good matches.
but him vs tank is just stinky, its putting 2 guys at the wrong levels. and the lack of coverage seems to be going along with that.
it will be a good test indeed for what tank can pull solely on his own, as i cant see the undercard or cruz bringing in many buys at all

Davis vs. Cruz presser quotes
GERVONTA DAVIS
“The change in opponent didn’t affect much in my training. That’s just the sport of boxing. You have to be ready for anything. I always know that I have to adapt to whatever comes my way.
“Everyone says he’s going to come forward, but that’s easier said than done. If he does, we’ll give the fans an exciting fight. We know that’s his game plan. I just have to be smart, do what I do best and put on a perfect performance.
“Just make sure you tune into this fight. This is going to be a good one. I’ve been training 13 weeks for this, so I’m going to be ready and well prepared.
“It’s amazing to be fighting on Sunday. You have football during the day and boxing at night. I have a lot of young fans that watch me and I think this is going to be a great show.
“I’m excited to be in Los Angeles. I was made for this stage and I can’t wait to put on a great performance Sunday.
“Having a second child has matured me as a person and a fighter. I have two daughters to look after. I know I have to go out there and do my thing as a professional athlete, but I know the responsibility that also comes with being a father.”
ISAAC CRUZ
“We are extremely motivated for this fight. We have been training really hard and we’ve put in the maximum effort day after day. This Sunday, we’re going to be ready for the challenge.
“We have been preparing the best way that we can. We are going to fight smart. We’re going to stay within our style and then go forward with the best strategy to win the title.
“Gervonta is a great champion and if he said that I’m a tougher fight than Rolando Romero, then there is a reason for that. He knows that I’m a better fighter than Romero because he saw me fight in San Antonio. There is a reason for his comments.
“I’m here to do my job to win the fight, and whether it’s by decision or knockout I’m going to try to win no matter what.
“I am going to show everybody that Isaac Cruz is a true Mexican warrior and I’m going to show them what I’m worth with every punch I throw. They will see what I’m worth on Sunday, December 5.”

Am I the only one not sleeping on Cruz? Lol. If Cruz somehow manages to not get knocked out, isn't there a outside chance Cruz could win on the cards? Is Tank by stoppage really that much of a forgone conclusion?

lol its hilarious hyping up these poor fights. Yeah its a business but man when at 135 are top dogs like Loma, Lopez and now Kambosos that are willing to fight the best and risk their titles you can't take serious these cherry fights.
I don't know if this is true but its crazy that are people buying these poor fights.

Is this fight/show getting much publicity in the US? I’ve seen very little on social/YouTube pushing it which seems crazy for a PPV.

Its a shame PBC put it on Fite not a TV channel in UK, so zero buzz. Poor promoting really, it's not a PPV fight.maverick23 wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 10:21 Is this fight/show getting much publicity in the US? I’ve seen very little on social/YouTube pushing it which seems crazy for a PPV.

Garcia looked great against Cheeseman but that’s the only fight of his I’ve seen so who knows. Certainly a live underdog I think.peter barlow wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:21Its a shame PBC put it on Fite not a TV channel in UK, so zero buzz. Anyone else think Derevyanchenko - Adames is most interesting fight on card ?
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Isaac Cruz | Showtime PPV - December 5, 2021
I had a look at the undercard, and at the fighters that I hadn't heard of (nearly all of them) on Boxrec.peter barlow wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:21Its a shame PBC put it on Fite not a TV channel in UK, so zero buzz. I couldn't find anything that didn't seem predetermined?
I was trying to find a reason to warrant paying for the fight, and at least one fight on the undercard that looked good to try and sway me.
Garcia Fundora was a maybe, but not enough to get my $$$

Yeah he's being tipped has good odds but people seem to think he may be robbed on cards. Hope notpeter barlow wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:21Its a shame PBC put it on Fite not a TV channel in UK, so zero buzz. The fight isn't that expensive, but I feel like I'm enabling Davis paying to see him fight anything less than a champion, because if neither is s champion it ain't ppv.
