Martin Gethin, Cooper’s trainer.
I liked him. Pulled off some good upsets.

Just tuned in but missed it, But thought that was too soon for fox.... But my main take away, why the fuk is the ref judging it. It should never happen on a televised show (i know it does), But definatly not a televised 8 rounder... brittish boxing having refs judge on big cards really costs it a lot of credibility. You have the judges there, let them fuking judge.

I like Noakes. I think he beats Cooper well but at least Cooper will be trying unlike the opponents in the last couple of fights.

in theory id agree that having seperate judges is better, but in practice they f@ck up just as much as 1 sole judge does

tbh i thought soko won clear, and it looked to me like soko and fox both knew that kammy had got it. was surprised we had dudes here suggesting fox had been unlucky

Yea not suggesting this one was a robbery, if soko got the call he probably won the fight. But judging and reffing arnt the same job.

A judge has to remember the entire round, compare current work to work 2 mins ago, ect ect

A ref should be right in the moment focused on the present. mabey thinking of the 20 seconds befor if someone is getting battered and deciding on stopping it but mainly very present focused, no wasting energy on remembering the first 30 seconds of the round when they are exchanging in the last 30 seconds.

BEcause of this they have some shocker cards, and they can get away with them because they are doing an impossibly difficult job. judges cant get away with trash as well (although pretty well).

what you say all makes perfect sense, but i just dont know that in practice there really ends up being much difference in terms of whether youre more likely to get a fair outcome with 1 judge vs 3

Noakes seems disciplined and organised when he is stalking, but a bit crude when he lets go.

Early days but I don’t think this overly intense style is going to impress as he moves up.

This aint a great fight, but Noakes is starting to have some questions asked of him, going to potentially be very interesting if it goes beyond 6

Admittedly some of my lookie-likie’s are a bit of a stretch, true to form I’ve just linked up Pat Barrett with the late great Sid Haig.
