I rewound it and he DID beat the count and the ref waved it off.
So it wasn't a KO that they announced, BUT..,

Lyndon didn't exactly complain did he ?

Stood up at 8 didnt he? then ref waved it without even asking a question or getting to 10. It looks like he quit because he didnt protest, but arthurs temperament is that to just wonder off aimlessly, he is weirdly unphased by anything.
Then he went straight to his corner and sat down.

Though he lost his dad and 3 grandparents to Covid within like a week or something horrible ?
Understandable he wasn't at it.

Glad he's back and good again. :salut:

Odd fight.

Arthur looked like he didn't want to get involved at all, and I hate to say it, but it did look like he was looking to get out of it. He beat the count and knew exactly where he was. I guess the ref did him a favour

I think he diddled himself mentally a bit, after finding a lot of unexpected comfort in clinches. I'd have thought Yarde would've outmuscled him, but Arthur was surprisingly holding his own and even walking Yarde back at times.

So he was probably thinking he'd take it late with those tactics and drain Yarde's power. But I'd have had kittens in his corner with the way he was constantly dropping his left to initiate from downtown.

Great fight all action from the start Yarde all business from the off , great to see, Arthur stood up to some big shots in there, he gave it a good go, landed the jab and looked like Yarde might not be able to keep the pace up, Yarde is class when he cuts loose, hits hard to head and body, it was the left downstairs that done Arthur but he took accumulative punishment

Exactly that...
Don't think he quit since the ref just waved it off, but he looked resigned and like he wasn't wanting anymore. First fight Arthur didn't feel that power and coasted to a win, this time round Yarde brought the fight to him.

I’m not sure what to think about that fight.

Arthur appeared to have quit. Maybe he had a bad training camp or maybe he was lucky in the first fight?

Yarde looked very amateurish and attacked with reckless abandon. He couldn’t have maintained that pace.

And Yarde isn’t the most skilful of boxers either, and I think he knows this, hence the reason why he went all guns blazing trying to physically overwhelm Arthur.

The thing is, if you’ve ever watched the Benn-Watson or Honeyghan-Starling bouts, Yarde will eventually come undone when he faces a disciplined world-class defensively responsible opponent.

Yarde is reminiscent of pre-Watson Benn. Benn improved.

Arthur wasn't physical enough to hold him off into the late rounds without gambling, planting his feet a lot more and throwing spearing shots to keep him off-balance. Like I said, I think Arthur was way too happy in clinches and ended up betting the farm on them.

But then it's not like I'd fancy trading with Yarde, so I get it.
