BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
Can anyone recall the BBBoC admitting to a mistake and overturning it? I know they back there own guys but when somthing is this clearly wrong have they ever intervened?
If skeete’s team appeal and say he was badly hurt by illegal shots and the ref pressured a concussed fighter to continue and get battered for another couple of mins rather than giving him a deserved (and safe) DQ win… is there any chance the BBBoc could over turn it to a DQ? Or at least to a no contest? Because that is not a win for sheeraz in anyone’s mind.

I don't think the illegal shots were a huge factor, the writing was on the wall.
Re: BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
Best bet a NC, but I haven't heard it happen before with the BBBoC.
Re: BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
It was not possible until very recently when the rules were changed. If you remember they used to announce "all decisions are final".

I disagree i think they were a massive factor, was taking a knee because he was a bit overwheelmed and slightly hurt, then got hit with some stunner last one was crisp and unexpected without that he could of survived and recovered in my opinion.
But, i dont think it matters if he was going to win or not, to me even if its the last min of the last round and the sheeraz is up by 10 rounds, you commit a foul that blatent and it baddly hurts someone (to a point where it should be stopped) i think you should get DQ'd. Even if you were seconds from victory the foul is DQ worthy.
Re: BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
its a good point because experience fighters take a knee to save a pounding , i swear there was an african fighter that got dq for hitting when a fighter was down on a uk card few years back was, charlie edwards a couple years ago aswell i think,

I can't remember did they "unofficially admit that McDermott beat Fury when ordering the rematch - in a similar vein as the IBF I think accepted that Pacquiao beat Horn without officially overturning the decision?

Pac horn was a weird one. Think it was WBO, but they ordered some weird rescore (dont know if it had the ability to overturn the result), But there rescore supported the horn victory, which was suss even to me (Australian).

i remember that Was that changed that night? or at a later date? Bit different, and far more simple because the fight never restarted but good to see they have some swing to fix a mistake.

If a judge announced that wrong way round they would of beeen getting roasted. Looks very wide on the cards.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 01:52 remember the burnett-haskins judge that mixed them up?

he did get roasted, one of the very rare times too that robert smith actually publically went off on a judge (of course it was 1-off, probably never return 90 year old american, he doesnt go off so much on his repeat offending homebois)

You can't call a DQ or a NC every time there is a foul. The ref handled this one perfectly.

He didn't. He was clearly down and took three punches! The last one flush which clearly hurt him badly.Ricky wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 04:45gregregegg wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 21:39I disagree i think they were a massive factor, was taking a knee because he was a bit overwheelmed and slightly hurt, then got hit with some stunner last one was crisp and unexpected without that he could of survived and recovered in my opinion.

He was given time to recover from the foul, and the kid was given a point off. It's a tricky situation because fouls happen in the heat of the moment; and nobody wants to see boxing turn into football with boxers rolling around the floor and asking for a stretcher just to try and get a DQ or NC in a fight they're losing. It's something that is becoming more common - happens in UFC alot now too. The ref needs to use discretion, like Khan vs Crawford when that coward knew he was beat in every department so tried to find a way out on a low blow.
Re: BBBoC Overturning a decision? (Is it possible)
Skeete should never have got up and continued and then seen what the ref did

The ref was a shambles. I don't read this forum often enough to know whether or not you're a troll but you certainly sound like one.Ricky wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 04:45gregregegg wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 21:39I disagree i think they were a massive factor, was taking a knee because he was a bit overwheelmed and slightly hurt, then got hit with some stunner last one was crisp and unexpected without that he could of survived and recovered in my opinion.

There is no doubt the late blows impacted the fight.
The tide was turning, but Skeete may still have seen the fight out.
He was denied that opportunity by foul shots.
We cannot say for certain what would have happened. But we can say for certain that the odds were altered hugely against him.

People get blinded about the fighters they like. Skeete was gassed due to the fact he was on his bike the entire fight and the knock downs came when his feet slowed. Writing was on the wall, his fans should accept he was getting stopped regardless of couple of illegal digs or not.

I dont think you get it do you..... he was hit whilst on the floor....... not just once. If it was the other way round and Skeet did it and got chucked out nobody would have had a problem with itRicky wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 08:20Take a look in the mirror.
