Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
If you had to give an honest split on who gets what for the Terrence Crawford v Errol Spence fight what would it be ?
54% Spence
46% Crawford ?
54% Spence
46% Crawford ?
Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
1% for Spence, 1% for Crawford and 98% for the one, who drags them in the ring and makes to punch each other.

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
60% Crawford 40% Spence sounds fair to me.
Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
40:40, 20 for winner
Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
I don't care, what ever it takes to get the fight made.
If we're talking a honest and fair split, 55% Spence, 45% Crawford.
If we're talking a honest and fair split, 55% Spence, 45% Crawford.

I'll just recycle my post I submitted to a thread created 8½ months ago, which was titled "Crawford vs Spence purse split", making only two edits (highlighted in red):
Frequenting this forum is a bit like “Groundhog Day”, because people keep creating threads discussing the same topics time-and-time again, rather than searching for an updating any previously created threads discussing precisely the same subject matter.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 03:55Key points to consider:

• Spence Jr’s resume at 147lbs is vastly superior than Crawford’s
• Crawford’s options at 147lbs are extremely limited
• Crawford’s non-PPV viewing figures are declining (i.e. the Kavaliauskas [40%] and the Brook [26%] fights attracted significantly smaller audiences than the Benavidez bout)
• Crawford’s PPV buy-rates are appalling and dwarfed by Spence Jr's (i.e. Porter [135,000], Khan [150,000] & Postol [55,000] versus Mikey Garcia [375,000], Porter [350,000] & Danny Garcia [250,000])
• Top Rank are losing money promoting Crawford's events due to his $4m minimum purse guarantee per bout (regardless as to whoever he faces)
Calibre of opposition fought at 147lbs within the last four years:
• Errol Spence Jr. = Kell Brook [prime version], Lamont Peterson, Carlos Ocampo, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia)
• Terence Crawford = Shawn Porter [past-his-prime version], Jeff Horn, Jose Benavidez Jr., Amir Khan, Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Kell Brook [shot version]
Anybody thinks that Spence Jr. would be currently willing to accept less than a 60% purse split are deluded.
However, the situation might change if Crawford leaves Top Rank/ESPN and makes the jump to PBC/Fox/Showtime in October.

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
as is id say 50% spence, 30% bud, 20% winner.
But honestly i dont want it next, spence needs a comback fight from the injury and inactivity. Think spence in a tune up, craw vs ugas. Come back and meet for undisputed. Then both bringing 2 belts each, id have it 55-45 spences favor unless craw did good numbers vs Ugas in which case, strait 50-50 split, fornicate if craw did amazing numbers then it could go 55-45 craw.

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
"Bob Arum: Terence Crawford not a PPV draw, he’s lost money on every fight"
The Top Rank promoter says his company is at their limits of what they can offer the welterweight champion going forward.
During a video interview with talkSPORT, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum touched on the subject of Terence Crawford’s free agency after completing his contract with the company. With Arum directly asked about whether or not he think he’ll work with Crawford going forward, Arum said:
“Well Terence Crawford, I think, is clearly one of the best fighters in the world today. He’s tremendously skilled. Unfortunately he hasn’t shown to be a fighter who’s been a draw on pay-per-view, for whatever reason.
“So we’ve put him in the best fights we can, unfortunately we’ve lost money on every fight that he’s done, and he keeps insisting — and I can understand his point of view — ‘I’m the best, I should get paid like the best,’ so if somebody is willing to come and put up the money that Crawford is demanding he should do a fight for some other promoter if he’s gonna make more money.
“We’re really at the limit of what we can pay him and maybe somebody will pay him more and will be able to make a profit, which obviously it’s a business, and so be it.”

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
We sort of knew Bob wasn't making much money on Crawford, but to have him say that he was losing money is something else.
And Bob ain't the kind of guy to say that sort of thing, it's losing face. Maybe he doesn't care in his 90's.

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
To me it's too early to debate this, again. Both will likely have another fight before negotiating.
Right now it should be 60/40 or 55/45 in favor of Spence, but that could change if Crawford beats Thurman next spring/summer.

Re: Crawford v Spence % Purse Split ?
Beating Keith Thurman is an utterly meaningless achievement.
Keith Thurman’s next bout hasn’t been announced yet, but assuming it takes place around March, then the American would be celebrating his five-year anniversary of the most recent victory he’s scored against a top-ten world-rated welterweight.
Since then, he was forced to endure a lot of punishment during his majority decision victory over Josesito Lopez. And was subsequently decked en route to being upset by the 40½ year old past-his-prime iteration of Manny Pacquiao.
The 33-year-old Keith Thurman has been removed from The RING, ESPN, TBRB & BoxRec rankings due to inactivity, because he hasn’t fought for 2½ years.

Crawford recently had a big fight and won well but did poor ppv numbers, surely that would affect someone's perspective in terms of a purse split.
Had Crawford won and did monster/big ppv numbers would have shifted opinion on who gets what too would it not ?
Might be the same question but the financial dynamics change depending on ppv buys and performance.

And the figures for the Porter bout are even more dire than the PPV buy-rate Crawford achieved when he fought the shot version of Amir Khan.
Therefore, the Porter-Spence Jr. purse split situation hasn’t changed. If anything, Spence Jr. might even deserve a bigger splice of the purse pot pie!
But I get what you’re saying though.

Crawford said he wanted the lion’s share of a 60-40 split, which was captured on a YouTube video published either by Fight-Hype or FightNews.
Interview transcripts from the same discussion were also published via lots of media articles.
You could have Googled it.
