Ricky Hatton
It's decent enough but the prob with the more famous ones is that it's difficult to find new stuff

Just listened to the Matthew Hatton episode, very enjoyable. Honest bloke.
Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
No really talks about Matthew Hatton but he could easily be a top 10 British contender for best chin.
Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
Too right, one of my favorite fighters.
Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
That's on my list too.
Thompson took part in some amazing contests in a stellar career.

Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
Boxing fans will always remember quality fighters who put it on the line....Brodie was one of them
Re: Boxing Life Stories - I'm calling it now
The John Rawling interview is up now.
Listened to over half it so far and it's good. Seems like one of the good guys.
I wish he still did radio commentary

I'd recommend the John Rawling pod
I noticed Gary Sykes is the latest interview that's now available.
It's relatively short at less than 45 minutes in duration. Sykes had countless entertaining scraps, so no shortage from his career to recount, amateur and professional, but I wonder if this will be an uncomfortable listen if it focusses heavily on him going off the rails after boxing.

Oh dear, I'm not looking forward to it now
Surely the main focus should be on his excellent career
An English & British Champion....just look at the names on his record that he's squared off against![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
Sykes never gave or asked for a quarter once that bell rang

Just listened to the Kid Galahad one - very interesting after knowing what happened to him against Kiko Martinez. Bit of a risk doing active boxers, but also gives a different perspective. Fascinating.

I did a double bill of the Sauerland brothers, Kalle and Nisse. Worth a listen, particularly Kalle for stories...Alexander Frenkel I didn't know what had happened to him until the Pod.
I always thought the pair of them were faking their accents as I'd assumed they were German, when in fact they've lived the vast majority of their lives in England.
Tris Dixon is attempting to do another Pod with both of them.

I just couldn't warm to Nisse. Came across as a clueless, spoilt, rich boy who has had his career handed to him on a plateTHEBUTCH wrote: ↑20 Dec 2021, 18:46 I did a double bill of the Sauerland brothers, Kalle and Nisse.
