Some good bouts.

The McCormack’s have both signed for Probellum.

Wonder why Hearn hasnt signed any one.

It's odd I really don't see as much hype with this lot.

Obviously the hype around guys like Amir Khan, Audley and AJ was huge. I felt a fair bit of hype around Joe Joyce and some others but this lot, I really don't see anyone whos going to fill arenas by themselves early.

Always thought highly of him when he was with FW and looked good against Jez Smith.
I thought he looked solid enough from the parts I caught but fairly raw. Brian Rose could be good barometer

Nathan Heaney team won't take the fight. Few other potential interesting names: Sergio Martinez, Denis Radovan, Sven Elbir, Christopher Ousley
Yeah - he was a little raw but he hasn’t been that active and it was only his 10th fight. Hopefully he’s kept busy and is stepped up next year.

Radovan would be a good shout.

They'll be ok in the north east. Eddie seems to have gone off the region. He's done it with Ireland as well.

It’s become common for a large amount of British boxers to come out of the Olympics and go pro. When Khan turned over I think he was the only guy for Britain at the Olympics plus he medalled and was 17. FW promoted him really well early doors too being on prime time ITV for his rematch with Kindelan and his early fights.

Much harder nowadays to get that kind of exposure. Degale was being booed in his first few fights. It’s only when the guys step up so they sell decent tickets.

I’m surprised the McCormacks have signed with Probellum - I think they were the guys Eddie wanted most and they’d have good pro styles too.

Doesn’t meant they won’t end up fighting on Hearn shows. See Lee McGregor. And even McGrails approach to fight by fight.
I wouldn’t expect any boxer to commit long term to DAZN/BT given the uncertain landscape.

Sky have had to start from a low base but in terms of a platform they are head and shoulders above anyone else right now.

On the other side the commentary team are so biased towards Bivol. Ignoring the right hand of salamov

Can we limit the talk of the Bivol fight on this thread please pal - I’m going to watch it later.

Cordina is quality, but full credit to the Begian. He's never been past 8 before and took some big shots from Cordina, some of his best shots too.

Comfortable win for Cordina.

Yeah - they may look to have co-promotional deal but I genuinely don’t think it’s good for the fighters as the promoters don’t seem to get fully behind them. When Selby was working with Haymon and Hearn he went from being on the verge of being a top fighter in the U.K. to not getting much of a push over here.

Same with fighters going on a fight-by-fight basis. A promoter isn’t going to go all in (unless you’re Canelo) promoting you on that basis.

I can understand not signing with BT given all of the talk of the sale but I think DAZN is safe for 3/4 years. Agree that Sky is the best platform. If Probellum are looking to continue with Freesports/allegedly then they’ll get far less promotion than even DAZN provide.

I wasn’t that impressed with Cordina. He got frustrated quite easily. Would have been a decent warm up for Fuzile but think Ogawa would land a fair bit on Cordina and not sure Cordina has the power to keep him off for 12 rounds. We’d find out how good his chin is though.

Is it quieter than usual on here tonight, or just not much interest in the early Dubai/Russian cards and the Liverpool undercard?

Lundy saved by the bell at the end of the first. Lovely right hand counter by Davies.

Didn't recognise RDJ with his short hair or his fighting !

Obvs HHL was old but that's still a good win. :box:
Should be made to get his curls back tho - doesn't even look Scouse.

Davies looked a different fighter. Lundy didn’t seem to recover from being hurt at the end of the first and his punch recovery looks a hell of a lot worse than it used to.

I’d like Davies Jr to either rematch Ritson or fight Tennyson. Both would be fun fights. Also OD in Liverpool would be good too.

Sharipova might just provide a shock here, she's busy and puts her punches together in bursts. Gotta favour Taylor though, unless she really has slipped to this level.

She's definitely on the slide tough.
