Can I ask why Boxrec is so Heavyweight with interest? Just curious.

I’m not downing it but I’ve always been curious about not only the heavy interest into this division but also the deep intelligence displayed by posters in terms of the vast list of contenders that you all follow. It’s impressive so I’m not trying to insult any of you.

It can be an incredibly disappointing division to follow.
Top level 50/50 fights are so rare, maybe one every 4-5 years.
So many of them don't train for the distance and a lot of fights have one or both gassed after 4-5 rounds. Often the best never fight the best.
A lot of fights are over in one round.
I believe focusing on the HW division is a form of self inflicted mental abuse, stemming from a broken home life and chronic early teen w*nking.
But I'm not a doctor.

I think the appeal for me is that The heavyweight champ is the boxer that could beat everyone else in the world in a boxing match. The open class no handicap. A world champ fly weight would lose a boxing match to 1000s of people.
Most sports arnt handicapped, I’m glad boxing is and we get divisions, but the heavyweight champ is the true champ of champs, he would beat them all.
If there was the nba and the nba under 6 foot tall division I would watch the reg nba more.
If there were less divisions and less weird weight cutting it would be less of a problem. but if your the 154 champ and you litraly are going “no I don’t fight those guys they are 6 lbs heavier than me”… ya the same size, it’s 6 ducking lbs. don’t get me started on 115/118lb divs, madness. I get you don’t want Loma vs AJ, but shit you need some flex.
