Press Release
Canadian super welterweight Mikael Zewski (35-2, 23 KOs) wanted a tough challenge for his first professional boxing fight in his region of Mauricie and his wish will be granted.
For the first appearance in his 11-year career, at a boxing event in his hometown, the Trois-Rivieres boxer will face WBC # 9 contender and powerful slugger Serhii Bohachuck (20-1, 20 KOs), of Vinitza, Ukraine, in the 10-round main event.
Colisee Videotron in Trois-Rivieres will host its very first professional boxing event on Friday, March 25, starting at 7 p.m. This event is presented by Mise-O-Jeu, and a Groupe Yvon Michel co-promotion with Probellum in collaboration with Deacon Sports and Entertainment Ltd.
“We are proud to present this international boxing gala in Trois-Rivières, which has become a reality thanks to the invaluable collaboration of Mark Weightman, president and CEO of the Trois-Rivières Lions. There is no doubt for us that Mikael Zewski belongs among the world elite of his division, and he will have the opportunity to demonstrate it to everyone on March 25," said Yvon Michel, President of GYM.
Also featured will be the popular welterweight Sebastien Bouchard (19-2, 8 KOs) from Baie-Saint-Paul, charismatic welterweight Marie-Pier Houle (4-0-1, 2 KOs) from Cap-de-la-Madeleine, skillful heavyweight Alexis Barriere (4-0, 3 KOs), of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and several other boxers in important fights for the advancement of their careers.
For Mikael, it is a dream come true: "I have been a professional since 2010 and since my very beginnings, I have wanted to box in front of my own people, my family and my friends. I know the challenge is important and that my opponent is dangerous, but I will be inspired and motivated like never before!” declared the sympathetic athlete.

Re: Mikael Zewski vs. Serhii Bohachuck - March 25, 2022
“We applaud Bohachuk’s courage to return home and fight with his countrymen in a real war,” GYM president Yvon Michel said. “Our hearts and prayers are with him and all Ukrainians who we wish for peace. Mikael is still in a very tough fight against Manriquez, the WBO’s No. 8-rated super welterweight.
“GYM is excited to co-promote this stacked card with our partner, Probellum, in our boxing series. Not only do we have some of the best Canadian boxers in action, but we are also thrilled to have three Olympians fighting in separate bouts, Arthur Biyarslanov, Joseph Ward, and Herbert Carvalho Sousa.”

Carlos Ocampo Drops Mikael Zewski Twice, Stops Him in Ninth
It wasn't the kind of night that Mikael Zewski (35-3, 23 KOs) wanted, but he was battered and stopped in nine rounds by Mexico's Carlos Ocampo (33-1, 20 KOs).
The junior middleweight clash, which had the vacant WBC Continental Americas title at stake, took place at Colisee in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada.
Zewski was dropped in the third round and then again in the ninth, which forced his corner to pull him from the fight.
When the contest began, there was a feeling out process before the punches began to fly in the second round.
Ocampo was controlling the action with the harder and more accurate shots. During the third, he dropped Zewski with a hard left hook. Zewski beat the count and never stopped trying to change the tide.
But, Ocampo never lost control, administered punishment and decked Zewski hard for a second time in the ninth with a right hand to the jaw. This time around, Zewski's corner threw in the towel to stop the contest.
Two fights ago, Zewski was up on the cards when he was stopped by dangerous welterweight contender Egidijus Kavaliauskas.
For his part, Ocampo has now won 11 in a row since suffering a first round knockout loss to welterweight champion Errol Spence in June of 2018.
Also on the card, Marie-Pier Houle (6-0-1, 2 KOs) defeated Valentina Keri (5-6-0, 0 KO) by unanimous decision.
The judges gave cards of 60-54, 59-55 and 60-54.
Sebastien Bouchard (19-2-1, 8 KOs) failed to get the verdict he wanted. After a slow start in the first half of the fight, he finally got going around the sixth - but ultimately fought Mexico's Ricardo Lara (22-9-1, 10 KOs) to a ten round split draw.
The scores were 95-95, 93-97 Lara and 96-94 Bouchard.
It was Bouchard's second fight since suffering serious biceps injuries in 2019.
Arthur Biyarslanov (10-0, 8 KOs) defeats Roberto Verdugo (10-4-1, 4 KOs) by referee stoppage in four rounds/
Petar Gavrilovic (2-0, 0 KO) defeated Greg Weeks (3-2-0, 3 KO) via unanimous decision over four.
Spencer Wilcox (1-0, 1 KO) defeated Armando Lizarraga Osuna (1-3-1, 0 KO) by referee stoppage in two round.
