Imagine how huge Khan v Benn would be, esp if they could find a title to fight for.

Brook - Hatton set the record for views on a regular Sky Sports show before Froch - Bute bet it

There’s loads of Asians in Cardiff. Quick google search suggests as much as 8%, although that seems a bit high to me. I’m sure a lot of them would come out to support Khan.a force wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 05:59 The fights huge. Khans obviously a massive name but Brook’s big in his own right too. He did record figures on regular sky sports at one bit. It was only when Froch fought Bute that he was beaten.
There was 27k at Brammall Lane when Spence came over & as brilliant as Spence is / was he was a complete unknown to anyone outside of hardcore fans. It wasn’t like a Golovkin coming over at the time.
I don’t think it would do that well in Cardiff though. There’s a lot of Asians & Khan fans in Greater Manchester & West Yorkshire. He’s gone to restaurants in places like Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield, Keighley, Dewsbury etc & he gets mobbed by fans lining the streets..
However it’s one thing to travel an hour or so away but it’s a long trek down to Cardiff both their fan bases.

Yeah although Cardiff itself is a smaller city compared to the likes of Manchester, Birmingham and I think even Sheffield and Leeds.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 07:26There’s loads of Asians in Cardiff. The above poster was right. West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester have millions of Asians. Loads love boxing as well. It will be a strong Khan atmosphere.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 07:26There’s loads of Asians in Cardiff. Quick google search suggests as much as 8%, although that seems a bit high to me. My mate texted me last night to say he's got me a ticket, no idea where but that's looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Re: Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook | Sky Sports PPV - 19 February 2022
Things have changed since Sky rejected Khan vs McCloskey. What a funny state of affairs that was - I remember Barry Hearn wearing a "Sky box office" T shirt in the press conference as a dig.

Which press conference did he wear that?
McCloskey was promoted by Matchroom at the time wasn’t he?

From memory, Sky didn’t reject it as it PPV per se, they actually advertised it as being PPV until a few of the undercard fights got cancelled, they tried to put it on regular Sky and Khan had a hissy fit. Believe it ended up on Primetime in the end?

I honestly don’t remember anything about the fight or the general show, apart from the ending. Can’t even remember if I even watched it live or just listened on radio.mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 10:59There was a good crowd there. I definitely didn’t buy it, although possibly streamed it. The only fight I ever remember buying on Primetime was Froch - Dirrell.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 11:08Yeh, I believe it did around 200k buys on Primetime or however that system worked.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 10:54From memory, Sky didn’t reject it as it PPV per se, they actually advertised it as being PPV until a few of the undercard fights got cancelled, they tried to put it on regular Sky and Khan had a hissy fit. Yeah Barry was really trying for the rematch based on the dodgy stoppage.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 10:45Which press conference did he wear that?

I think it was the main press conference in fight week.
