Look, I'm just messing around. I respect Lennox, but I do think Bowe would have beaten him. He's the most underrated heavyweight of his time.

However, I think it would have been very harsh to call off Fury vs Wilder as Fury got up (waved it off when he was sprawled on the ground would have been acceptable as he looked out) but when Fury rose and BEAT the count his legs were strong and his eyes were clear. Lewis whilst he beat the count quicker was all over the place after 10 seconds. It would have been a Curry vs McCorry style KO had the ref continued it.

Yeah, I agree. Lewis was wobbly despite getting up faster, and history shows it was okay to let Fury continue. My point was that I think Lewis would've recovered enough had he been given another 10 seconds.

How many refs would've let Fury continue were they forced to make a call on the 10th second, with are-you-okay and walk-to-mes frowned upon... I think Fury would've been stopped in the '90s. Preferring one style of refereeing to the other's just preference.

And Bowe might've beaten Lewis but he didn't want it. I suspect the same's true of Fury and Joyce.

I agree, Bowe at that time was the more complete fighter hard to See him not finding the chinks in Lewis' armour, and his inside work would have caused significant problems for Lewis. Bowe was the business at that stage of his career.

From all the reading I've done on the subject, I've come to conclusion, that Bowe wasn't afraid of Lewis, he was bitter over the olympics, and didn't see why he should give him the opportunity, Rock Newman was also an exceptionally difficult man.
