I scored the first couple for Browne, but he was losing them! Artur barely threw a punch. He closed distance brilliantly and made Browne work without doing anything himself. I knew he'd get to him. He looks a beast to fight.

As soon as Beterbiev's work rate got going (about right when he was cut) browne wanted none of it and rarely came out of his shell. He needed to fire back more to keep his man off, as it was Bert could basically tee off and for me won everything after the 2nd
browne has talent but not hard enough, bert manned him there

TIL will accuse you of predicting what's gonna happen in later rounds, but even tho' Browne was landing more, I felt he was still losing them.

Well no, I was 20-19, but kinda - because I was probably that only due to your nagging.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 01:15mickey scored the first couple for browne, which he both clearly won. did you really pull your futuristic judging again lolskanksta wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 01:14I agree.mickey1975 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 01:08 I scored the first couple for Browne, but he was losing them! It's Ring Generalship,
The body language as they walk back to the corner. SMB WAS doing well, boxing and moving and landing more, but it didn't for a second look like he was winning the fight, or bothering KAB, so...

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
Beterbiev just too hot to handle when he smells blood, Browne started off well sticking out the jab and constantly moving but by the 4th Beterbiev started coming on, walking Browne down, whipping left hooks to body and then bringing it upstairs, lovely knockdown in the 7th, body shot then straight right had Browne taking the knee, actually thought Browne had his best round in a few in the 8th but Beterbiev took his soul in the following round, again it was left to body this time followed up by a left uppercut to put Browne away, knocked the fight out of him

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
As soon as Beterbiev got that bad cut he seemed to up his intensity hugely and the output followed, Artur looks like he punches very very hard with both hands and once he got to Browne it was curtains, he got through to the body when Marcus went into his shell and didn't let him off the hook. Browne did seem to freeze under the pressure once he got backed up, failed to throw any meaningful counters and paid the price.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
Good win, he beat the fight out of Browne. You could see by the 9th Marcus didn't want any more of that pain.
Beterbiev is a tough man.

Was the cut a head or a punch?

Heads, both got cut from it but Artur had the bigger gash.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
For all the bitching & moaning Tyson Fury spewd out after getting cut against Oto Wallin, Artur Beterbiev shows how a real champion handles matters.
Beterbiev is a class act and a formidable boxer.
By the end of round 2 the fight was his, but how he'd get the win I was unsure. By round 5 the beat-down was well & truly underway
Hats off to Browne for rising after getting sickened by Beterbiev's crippling body shots. When Artur thumps home those hurtful body shots, look how quick he whips in a shot to his opponent's face before they touch down. Pure class !
Beterbiev has a strange habit of leaping in with punches sometimes that should end up being clumsy, but the opposite is true. This weird move pays dividends almost everytime.
I've loved every minute of Beterbiev's career. The punch power, the pressure, the split second head movement, the strength, the skill...17-0 (17)![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

beterbiev can land hard shots from like an inch a way, few fighters can punch so short
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
And maybe just one of the reasons why Canelo doesn't look in Beterbiev's direction.

I agree. Not sure how long Beterbiev will be able to keep up his outstanding form.
Could be wrong, but I sense Canelo is waiting it out....or simply not interested at all.

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
Canelo always goes for the misleadingly greater achievements. To unify at the less threatening SMW, to challenge CW against the less threatening Makabu, etc. I won't pick him over the current Beter.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Marcus Browne | Sky Sports - 17 December 2021
I'm not rubbishing Canelo's attempt to win a title at Cruiserweight which is impressive, but he's completely leapfrogged two super champions at Light heavyweight
There's a fight with Beterbiev &/or Bivol right there for the taking and even the most ardent of Canelo's cynics would have to acknowledge what a tumultuous challenge that would be on top of everything else Àlvarez has achieved.

He could easily - ahem - outpoint Bivol.
