Re: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora 2 | DAZN - December 18, 2021
I never thought I'd see a scenario where Dereck Chisora looked in better condition than Joseph Parker.
I've been digging at Chisora for years to get into better condition & he waits until he's 38 to do it!
Looks like Parker is going to try & take Chisora out, because he won't be able to move for 12 rounds carrying that extra flesh.

You might be right re: Parker's physical appearance. Thing is, he has always had a bit of a dad bod. Its one of the reasons (+ plus his deeply religious family and upbringing) that I expect him to be a clean boxer- shock horror!Syntax Error wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 13:09 I never thought I'd see a scenario where Dereck Chisora looked in better condition than Joseph Parker.

Maybe this is his cash out fight. Thing is -
I've played rugby with a lot of Samoans and Tongans who were super fit and physically looked just like Parker, solid but unimpressive. Not the case over 80 minutes of rugby- they were up for it.
He does go 12 rounds frequently, more frequently than most if us would like
I do agree about Del Boy, he looks like he has trained hard for this.
Could be a better fight than I was anticipating.

Parker has a decent middle of the range gass tank. He always gets tired, but he is 240+ fighting 12 rounders with world class opposition. i think 250s a bit heavy but you cant judge his body without factoring in he is Polynesian. wont see abs on many big boy samoans, dosent mean they arnt fit.
If he isnt getting thrown around on the inside mabey he will actualy gass slower. a 200 lb man and a 250 lb man running a 10mile race, big boy will slow faster. But a 250lb man wrestling a 200lb man, 200lb guy often gases faster because he isnt just moving his body he is wearing his opponents weight... Depending on the style clash boxing can be the marathon or the wrestling match, so its hard to say.

When has anyone had a good win over Chisora? Probably no one since David Haye lol. If Chisora puts up a fight they say "wow he had trouble with Chisora" and if they win easily they say "Chisora looked like crap, this means nothing". That was the story for Tyson Fury, first he sucked since Chisora almost beat him, then his rematch win meant nothing b/c Chisora is crap.gregregegg wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 15:03Parker is 29. He is the only guy in the top 10 in his 20s. I think he lost a lot of momentum, but a good win vs chis could get some of that back, other than that he is high in the WBO, so should get a shot at someone for something in not toooo long.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 10:10 Might be a war
Might be dull
All said it's not really a rematch that excites me
Parker is getting older and seems to be slipping out of meaningful contention

This Parker dude has always been sort of lame. Claims to have some speed when in reality he doesn't have sh1t. Here's hoping the Parker story ends tomorrow.

Good win dosent need to be crazy dominant. I would say whyte 2 was a good win, was losing on the cards but pulled out the best punch of his career when it mattered.SportsRatings wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 21:19When has anyone had a good win over Chisora? It’s true every chisora win gets some hate come with it, but I think if parker can win by stoppage or 9-3 or better type card it puts him in a good place..

Ive been bigging him up.
He lost out to the silver SD at the Olympics to Muslim Whatshisface.
Huge guy who can bang and move. Should be a HW, it just ain't fair at cruiser

Apparently Babic took tonight’s fight at short notice, which explains the dip in his work-rate.
He also deservingly got hurt, because he’s been very sloppy tonight.

Babic’s hands are low and hasn’t fully-recovered.
Either that or he’s out-of-gas and trying to catch his breath.

I'm touting him as the next big thing at cruiser and then moving to HW.
I thought he would go straight to HW, but that might be later when he fills out.

If Spilmont makes it to the sixth, could we see Babic struggling and also losing the winning momentum?
Spilmont seems to be out-of-gas, but he’s coping with Babic’s blow’s fairly well.
And if he gets a second wind, things could get rather interesting.

F it I’m picking Chisora I.e., an upset.
At the same time, I worry about Chisora’s long term health. I’d like to see him retire regardless of the outcome.

The first time Babic faced a guy willing to fight and he was almost put away...
Remarkable performances by Barrett and Richards, they will give some headaches to world-class guys.

Man, do Cullen and Sadjo even belong to the same weight class? Jack looks like a huge scarecrow next to the bulky Lele.

Sadjo will completely run out-of-gas if he doesn’t stop Cullen soon.
And Sadjo’s recent record and the proverbial eyeball test suggests Sadjo isn’t particularly heavy-handed against half-decent opposition.
He might be more of a grinder than someone possessing one-hitter-quitter type one-punch KO power.

Ref clearly favouring the house fighter. Plain to see in my opinion.

39 - 37 Cullen. When he sticks to his reach, things work well for him.
