I think that's the last time we'll see Chisora in the ring .Ricky wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:31 Both should.consider retiring.
Del absolutely should, he's in danger of serious brain impairment.
The fact Parker couldn't finish that job tells me he's nowhere near world title level again, too many big hitters at heavyweight now. The likes.of Hrgovic or Dubois would annihilated Del inside 2.
He's done bloody well for himself with limited tools .

chisora won 2/3 rounds tops he has success in other rounds but parker clear clear winner

Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
there was 1 round i thought del defo won, 2 others i thought you could give him. 117-108 is the closest id go
like the usyk fght, too generous too del. yet when he's actually had a good argument for winning, vs whyte/helly/parker 1, it all went against him
the best thing on the card was stilll sadjo

He's made over 15 million. For a gatekeeper that's phenomenalrd350lc wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:34I think that's the last time we'll see Chisora in the ring .Ricky wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:31 Both should.consider retiring.

Has any other gatekeeper made that sort of money in the history of the sport ? I dunno ??KiwiRider wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:36He's made over 15 million. Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
so one of the judges had chisora winning 6 rounds plus a 10-10 round... fornicating hell.
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
Caldwell was awful. No answer for the upper cut all night.
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
His best punch was the jab , closely followed by the backhand slap .margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:37 del should retire i think, just was not holding the shots like he used to
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
The shots landed stats tells a different story of the fight. Maybe the refs were looking at activity?

How can boxing judges be so incompetent and still get away with it. They must all have thousands under their beds with all the envelopes they receive.

Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
this fight and the usyk fight had those 'big' moments where chisora would explode with an inaccurate burst, which would nonetheless draw cheers. 'what fighting spirit!' . ;war chisora!'
maybe the judges are totally awed by those

Those scorecards are possibly the worst collectively I've seen!!
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
Yeah, I don't think it was incompetence.
I always cover the draw if it makes commercial sense - and it did here.
A draw and a good fight and JP keeps his ranking and DelBoy can still be recycled.
I think the instructions they get are, "try and get x result".
Luckily Parker got those 3 KDs.
Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
Pretty one sided but still quite a good fight: better than the first. I thought Chisora was ready to go several times: that odd tactic of going to the corner and then smothering when hurt seemed to pay off.
It wasn't boring. It was violent, which is what we want to see isn't it?
I wouldn't like to see Chisora take any more punishment. It's clear he's done. Retirement time now, I think.

I'm not blaming him for doing what he had to to survive, but he knew he could trust Parker's conscience to give him a bit of a rest, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Unsportingly taking advantage of good sportsmanship...

whenever del went to the corner, parker pretty much only threw left hooks. joe shoulda mixed it up more

Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
Chisora would go to the corner and turtle up in a way to present virtually no opening. I actually thought there were a few occasions where Foster could have said to Del ‘turn around or I stop it!’ as he did completely turn his back or walk away after taking counts.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 20:00 whenever del went to the corner, parker pretty much only threw left hooks. joe shoulda mixed it up more

Re: Round-by-Round: Joseph Parker vs. Derek Chisora II - 18 December 2021
It was really close to a warning, I felt. For Del's safety if nothing else. But I think he knew Parker was too decent to take advantage when he turned away, so he did.jameswilson wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 20:10I actually thought there were a few occasions where Foster could have said to Del ‘turn around or I stop it!’
Shades of Lewis-McCall II, albeit for different reasons. Parker looked at Foster at least once to have a word, but I think we'd all be reluctant to do so when he was showing immense bravery otherwise.
