This was an excellent fight.

Zurdo played it too safe at TR.

He was smart. He wanted to mature, earn some money and a bigger profile. Now at 30, he's willing to step up.

Bivol, Benavidez, Beterbiev or Joe Smith Jr would be good fights for Zurdo.

Anyway, I guess the 175 champions would wait for Canelo payday.

he aint stepped up at all, he beat a guy who aint had 1 good win and got annihlated the last time he'd fought anyone decent

gonzalez's prime was 6 years ago. he got destroyed by gvo 4 years ago, then retired for 3 years.

gilby isnt being any more ambitious than before

I was referring that Zurdo is willing to fight Bivol. It ain't Ramirez fault that Bivol would not fight him.

An intriguing match up would be Benavidez vs Zurdo Ramirez @ 175. Bena is wasting his time fighting washed up opponents and draining himself at 168 when the top dogs are at 175. :OhYes: :box:

Watching this now. First impression is that Zurdo has forgotten about the body in the 4th. If he had comboed body to head in the 4th he could have finished it.

Wee bit more to the body in the 5th. Still too much headhunting.

49-45

Doing better digs in 6.

59-54

Yunieski huge head to Zurdo chin clash in 7. Closer round. Think Zurdo was buzzed by that head to chin shot. Could go either way.

69-63

Zurdo reassumes total control in 8. Good boxing but he is completely too open to and nonchalant about right hooks.

79-72

Now Zurdo digging to bod the way he should have been early.

89-81

Zurdo finishes. Could have had it done in 4.

Zurdo is a quality operator but he is not ready for Bivol and Beterbiev.

We have seen C Smith, Bivol, Beterbiev, Benavidez, and Zurdo fight recently. Joe will fight in a few weeks.

I still see Bivol/Beterbiev the top of the division. The other four should fight in any combination to sort that level out. Of course, Benavidez is still at 168, unfortunately.

zurdo says he's willing to fight good opponents but never does, he hardly deserves any credit for his ambition

I'd like to see Gonzalez versus Joe Smith or Anthony Yarde. Brutal wars both.
