Meaningless rankings wise. But probably a decent fight for him to adapt to andy lee. nice to see him bring in that uppercut.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:42The first Chisora-Parker bout was pretty intriguing. It was a good fight to watch.
So the rematch was always going to be a commercial success, even if it’s ultimately meaningless to Parker.

I'd agree with that. 120-105 is a biased result, giving Parker every single round is pretty ridiculous.gregregegg wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:53 There is more argument for 120-105 than 114-112.
I didnt score but it feels like one of those fights where parker won about 7 clear rounds. Chisora won zero clear rounds, and about 5 swing rounds.
But it's borderline impossible to find 6 rounds for Chisora to get to 114-112.

It was also a decent yardstick to measure the improvements to Parker that resulted from working with Andy Lee and Tyson Fury's gym.
I also feel there were question marks surrounding Parker after the first Chisora fight, which I thought the Kiwi deserved to lose.
So the rematch addressed the issue.
Anyway, I'd love to see Parker face Filip Hrgovic, since both guys are the same age!!!!
The Kiwi is underappreciated, but the Croatian is being marketed as a fighter all his world-rated peers are afraid of, despite Hrgovic's appalling resume!
For sure, Parker has his flaws, but at least he isn't a hype job, since his imperfections only became apparent after facing genuine world-rated opposition.
The same can't be said of Hrgovic, who can only be described as a hype job, since his resume is disgraceful!

I'd like to see Parker rematch Ruiz.
It was razor close, and I've watched it twice and I'm pretty sure Parker won.
I just want to see where they are at now.
Or Joe Joyce.

I thought Andy won, but it wasn’t a robbery.
Hrgovic and Parker are both aligned with Matchroom.
It’s much trickier matching Parker against Ruiz Jr. again, because of the PBC-Matchroom network rivalry (i.e. DAZN versus Fox or Showtime).

Think Parker will stick with the wbo path. Unless he gets a huge hrgovic offer. Parker seems loyal to wbo and those favors get rewarded.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 21:19I thought Andy won, but it wasn’t a robbery.

Joe vs joe vacant wbo title end of the year mabey… that would both be a big money fight and an eliminator.
Really Parker got weirdly leapfrogged by DDD in the wbo last year, who knows mabey he will leapfrog joe Joyce after this win…

He has a high work rate and punches a lot of short shots inside that people either count fully, or completely disregard it seems. And when he unloads it looks like he's doing a lot more than he is. And he usually walks forward too. But he gets outboxed. Yet he often doesn't seem hurt.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 19:43ya, it's bizarre. highly generous cards vs pulev, usyk, and parker when he clearly loses
then has legit cases for wins over helenius, parker 1, whyte 1........and loses all of them
He's a lot of contradictions, a top ten boxer who loses about half of his fights.
Derek 'War' Chisora is almost a modern day British Joe Frazier.
A fearless warrior always coming forwards, and one that never quits.
When it comes to sheer determination he's tougher than both Fury and Wilder but lacks the formers defence and latters one punch power.
If Derek Chisora wants to continue he may as well. There's plenty of top fighters who need fights and
Chisora is one of those rare modern boxers who'll fight anyone and doesn't need 2 years to find his pen.
As long as he looks after himself outside the ring and has a good medical/health support framework around him, why not?
As for Parker, in terms of career advancement, although he's probably little better off than before this fight, he's certainly given the fans something to remember.

Good matchups. It'll be OK to match this group other ways, except Parker-Ruiz.
