Super Welterweights: Terry Norris vs. Vinny Pazienza

Post by scorpio83 »

12 or 15 Rounds Super Welterweight Bout

Norris would out-box the "Pazmanian Devil" on the outside behind his jabs and combinations to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Definitely could go either way. Paz was 5'7-1/2, Norris 5'9.
Paz had a 70" reach. Norris only had a 68" reach.
Norris could hit Quite hard, and he had that nice quick efficient in and out stick and move defense stuff going on as well, but Paz had a nice bag of tricks defensively,as well, and Paz was no weakling at this weight either. He could definitely throw some mighty hard over-hand punches.

I think Paz had slightly better punch resilience, especially after thickening his neck during his grueling rehabilitation exercises.
Paz had only 1 or 2 bouts at 154. He looked quick and explosive as a Jr MW.
He definitely should've stayed in that weight division.
So hard to pick a winner in this particular hypothetical scenario.
I guess I'll just have to say that the bout would likely look like it should be ruled a Draw. One or the other would probably be declared the winner by SD or MD though.

I think Norris would take Pazienza apart round after round. Unless a cut stoppage I think Norris would comfortably decision him
