Well, #1 (I believe) WBC Featherweight challenger, Nicky Cook, now looks set to face a new champion as Rudy Lopez defeated Koshimoto via a 7th round TKO. The fight was dead level on all three cards (ref was Ian John Lewis and one judge was Larry O Connell).

Looks a good route for Cook, Lopez got outboxed by the game but limited Tommy Browne fairly recently - looks a decent puncher though.

Guerrero's fighting Aiken for the IBF title too so thats him out the way.

Supposed to be fighting Bobby Pacquiao at Super Featherweight for his continental americas belt.

Bobby Pacquiao is an improving fighter despite 11 losses, he landed a sweet left hook to the body to fell Kevin Kelley (a faded version admittedly) and punched out a decision over Carlos Hernandez.

Nicky Cook needs to get active before he loses his spot, looking at the names mentioned...Aiken, Gamaliel Diaz, Soto, Guererro, Pacquiao, Lopez, Koshimoto etc the division is pretty weak if you are looking for a belt...WBC, IBF, WBA as of course the best guys are flitting around weights looking for big fights and paydays. This is Cook's chance to muscle in, he needs to cash in before he misses the boat IMO.

To be fair though Steve, Bobby's win over Hernandez (a fading Hernandez) was a bit controvesial. It was close, but not many thought Pacquiao did enough to win.

He was also losing to Kelley when he landed the telling blows.

Having said that, I feel those two wins means he is now deserving of a chance for a championship proper - not sure he'd win one, but he'd be competitive against all the champions IMO.

Pacquiao is improving, but he'll get knocked out when he steps up to genuine world class.

According to the Mexican press Rudy Lopez is obliged to fight In Jin Chi in November
but he would like to have an optional defense before his fans in Cancun in September.
Cook has to face Jorge Solís (who is taking Guerrero’s Place) in the eliminator.

Well, I thought Chi was hard done by for Koshimoto so I can see a bit a fairness in that. However, cannot help think that an excellent opportunity may pass Cook. I give Cook a good chance vs all the people mentioned in this thread (WBC Featherweight related) except Chi.

I bet Cook doesn't get his chance for a while. Why doesn't he fight Scott Harrison - Battle of Britain!!!

I've seen this Jorge Solis before - Technically sound and a good puncher, unbeaten with 31 wins (22 KOs), 'La Coloradito' from Guadalajara, Mexico.

I think Cooks getting pissed about by the WBC. Eliminator! whilst Rudy Lopez fights Koshimoto (neither world class) for title, whats going on!! JOKE!!!

How come Robert Guerrero loses and then gets a chance at Aiken's IBF Title !! Amaging crap - the sanctioning bodies take the piss out of boxing and make a lot of money out of it aswell!

Guerrero won the rematch though addict which was an WBC eliminator but he's going for the IBF like you say.
