I don’t get why Warren wouldn’t just be honest and say there would be a delay with announcements until early January as they need to see what’s happening with possible restrictions..

Classic Bricktop. Covid is going to rip right through the boxing schedule…yesterday Joyce posted that he was on the plane home and today he’s injured

I'd be happy with the money he's had. Pizza and chocolate isn't that expensive.Coco wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 17:27I don't reckon he is set for life, didn't he get like 5 million usd? Show some imagination Frankie boy and bring fatty over. Joyce is so sturdy he'll make easy work of him.

Re: Joe Joyce’s Next Fight
The fact he's fighting on indicates he still has ambition, but no one's paying Andy Ruiz the big bucks for any fight. He practically gave his belts away in Saudi Arabia. Oliver McCall disgraced himself and was never allowed anywhere near a title shot again. Ruiz would need to beat a Joyce type to restore credibility.Coco wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 17:27I don't reckon he is set for life, didn't he get like 5 million usd? Joyce is injured. There was an announcement to announce that the pre-announced announcement has now been cancelled. Stay tuned for the announcement of the next announcement.

I agree. He is still a relatively young man .. 32 is no age really.Billy Tully wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 18:09The fact he's fighting on indicates he still has ambition, but no one's paying Andy Ruiz the big bucks for any fight. There was lots a coverage how Ruiz spent big after his Joshua win; a big spending spree which no doubt contributed towards his diet plan for the rematch. I would not be surprised if he is anything like set up for the lifestyle he briefly tasted .. I imagine he is very ambitious to get back there too.
I am not so sure he would be frozen out like McCall may have been; McCall was a real dangerman which likely influenced that more. And Ruiz has the Canelo/Reynoso connection which I expect will open doors.
Putting Slow-Joe in with Ruiz wouldnt seem ideal for Slow-Joe ... Ruiz would not be trying to KO him but outpoint him. And Ruiz with his good engine and very good movement and speed would be very confident of doing that for 12 rnds.

Americans are bad for stuff like that. I just give £50 a week to each of their mams, no need for court.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Dec 2021, 01:10 i think ruiz has like 7 kids (watch out for a divorce andy) and he spends it freely, one of the guys who loves to show his stuff off. never underestimate how quickly a dude like that can blow millions. tyson and hoyfield made 100m+ and still did it

It’s weird. Joyce had a cracking domestic win last year and then only fighting once in 2021 is crazy when he’s seemingly been fine health wise.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 17:37 Classic Bricktop. I know he’s number 1 with the WBO but he needs to be active and have his profile built to maximise it.
He should have been fighting this November/December.

I can’t see it being a big fight at all. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a Dave Allen or Kash Ali. Should be a Hunter or Helenius.

Agreed, they had some momentum after Takam, but lost it again. I have been wondering today though that rather than covid being the real reason, it could be because they may have lost the opponent or perhaps they may give him the Fury fight If Whyte falls out (I doubt Fury will pick him but still)maverick23 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2021, 15:40It’s weird. I think it was just a lost opponent then they’d just delay the announcement by a week or so and find someone else. They don’t need a press conference just a press release for now.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑20 Dec 2021, 22:44Agreed, they had some momentum after Takam, but lost it again. They may well be dangling the carrot of the Fury fight but I can’t see how the WBC would let them fight for the world title which I would have thought is what Joyce wants. Still a big big fight for Joe though but I’d lose some respect for Tyson if he just bins the WBC rather than fight Whyte.

Pulev has signed to fight Junior Dos Santos in the next Triad show on Triller. Perhaps he pulled out of talks with Joyce and the injury story is BS. Who knows.

Some sources suggest that Holyfield’s earnings over his career, including endorsements, was in the region of 500 million!!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Dec 2021, 01:10 i think ruiz has like 7 kids (watch out for a divorce andy) and he spends it freely, one of the guys who loves to show his stuff off. never underestimate how quickly a dude like that can blow millions. tyson and hoyfield made 100m+ and still did it
A lack of planning, good financial advice and dozens of kids to loads of women soon drained the pot.
He’s now worth in the region of half a mil now.
Andy Ruiz appeared to be spending like there was no tomorrow, although he did claim that he had invested a large chunk of it with his dad building houses.

Re: Joe Joyce’s Next Fight
blowing 500 million in 25ish years is pretty impressive. Thats cooking through 20 million a year, understandable for year 1 and 2 when you buying houses and cars... but after that it can only really be gambling. Pretty hard to spend $50,000+ every single day.rubberneck wrote: ↑23 Dec 2021, 05:23Some sources suggest that Holyfield’s earnings over his career, including endorsements, was in the region of 500 million!!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Dec 2021, 01:10 i think ruiz has like 7 kids (watch out for a divorce andy) and he spends it freely, one of the guys who loves to show his stuff off. never underestimate how quickly a dude like that can blow millions. tyson and hoyfield made 100m+ and still did it

I know someone who was chatted up by Evander Holyfield at a nightclub in London - she said he was very direct, quite charming, and actually quite respectful when she turned him down as she was married.rubberneck wrote: ↑23 Dec 2021, 05:23Some sources suggest that Holyfield’s earnings over his career, including endorsements, was in the region of 500 million!!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 Dec 2021, 01:10 i think ruiz has like 7 kids (watch out for a divorce andy) and he spends it freely, one of the guys who loves to show his stuff off. never underestimate how quickly a dude like that can blow millions. tyson and hoyfield made 100m+ and still did it

His predilections have cost him a pretty penny that's for sure.

No way Holyfield cleared 500 million. Taxes and management would have taken at least half.

I was responding to the comment that Holyfield cooked through 20 million a year for 25 years. No way he spent that much.
