It is very ironic that the fight nobody wanted to see ended up being the fight everybody wanted. It lived up to all expectations and did put the final nail in the coffin on a rivalry. Fury-Wilder 3 for me.

Second closest has to be Joshua-Usyk. All in all a pretty good year for heavyweights. Parker-Chisora, Whyte-Povetkin, Helenius-Kownacki, etc.

fury-wilder 3 was the best 9 rounds to 2 fight there's been, has there been such a one sided fight of the year before?

i actually prefered teo-kambo though tbh, much more sustained competiviness, a sizable upset rather than the expected outcome, had traded knockdowns just like fury-wilder and a big late rally/comeback attempt as george was down ...and all high level boxing, not a slopfest

but ya they are little dudes not da big bois

For pure drama it's Fury-Wilder 3.

Pure boxing.. it's Estrada-Chocolatito 2

Wilder - Fury III, for me.

It was hardly a masterclass of skill, but watching it live..... I think it beats every fight this year in terms of tension.

Watching it when knowing the result, it's pretty much a one-sided beatdown with Wilder landing a bomb -- but it was a very different story on the night.

This :TU:
Lopez Kambosos was edge if the seat, upset in the air stuff. Bkth guys trained like demons and there was no let up from either.
Taylor Ramirez was the true undisputed champion fight. Top class all action battle.
Wilder Fury 3 was exciting, but it was the same result as the second one, but not as well executed. Fury didn't train as hard, and for that I mark it lower than the other two fights.

might as well make every wilder fight foty because 'omg the tension because he might/when is he going to land'

like i said, teo-kambo not only had dudes trading knockdowns, but a hell of a lot more consistent action and competiviness, bigger late drama , way more punches and exchanges, and of course a big upset rather than the guy who won every round of the previous fight winning 9 of 11 rounds. the quality of boxing was better too for those who care about that type of thing

Fury-Wilder III. The drama. The knockdowns. The heart. The epic conclusion. A heavyweight battle for the ages.

I enjoyed it, but it's hard to place it as FOTY because Fury performed better in the 2nd fight.

Estrada v Gonzalez was the best fight for me, just a crap decision in the end, giving it to the loser. Lopez v Kambosos may have been a more surprising outcome but I don’t think it was anywhere near as good a fight. Fury v Wider was better than expected only because we figured Wilder wouldn’t last as long as he did

the decision on choco-jfe kinda sullied the experience for me, that was an 8-4 win for choco. i thought teo-kambo had everything that fight had and more anyway

I am going in this with Fury - Wilder. Lopez - Kambosos was probably better fight but ending of heavyweight trilogy became worldwide popular. On the other hand, Kambosos deserve Performance of year award :box: :box: :box: Was pretty disapointed with Taylor - Ramirez fight, first half was pretty exciting, but instead of graduating, fight went dull sparring session after knockdowns.

the ending of the great trilogy where wilder didnt win a fight. man, wilder wins 2 rounds out of 11 , after losing every round of their 2nd fight, and it gets treated like a nonstop atg trilogy and war

i dunno man, i enjoyed it but seems really overrated as a trilogy and as a 3rd fight. maybe ppl just got so devoid of good hw fights that anything good between really tall guys was inevitable to get puffed up

Thing is Ramirez was a below-average belt holder, in terms of skills, so the Taylor fight was kind of what I expected, although it was a nice accomplishment unifying. Hoping to see Taylor in with one of the big boys at 147 or somebody prominent move up to fight him

To rate Fury - Wilder 3 above Gonzalez-Estrada is madness to me. I’m hard on the Gonzo/Estrada joint fanboy wagon admittedly, but to me that was the best fight of the year. The aggregate skill and talent in the ring combined with 2400 punches just blew my mind. And I wouldn’t be bothered if the scoring did or didn’t match what I thought it should be, was close and good enough fight that I just didn’t really care, was just enjoying it, like the amazing fight it was.

Weirdly I found watching Teo-Kambosos the day after and having heard all the ecstatic comments, that it didn’t really live up to them. It was a good fight with decent drama but the reports on the night made me expect even more. I get the impression the underdog element was a big factor in how that fight was received.

Can't really argue with that.
The aggregate skill is what gets it to No.1.

I think it doesn’t help that Kam-Teo and Fury-Wilder were much more recent.

Estrada-Choco was 10 months ago.
