Arturo Gatti vs Ricardo Mayorga

Post by zuru »

15 Rd Welterweights
A smash em up fight. 2 tough go for broke sluggers.
Mayorga was as macho as any and I think would be stopped in 12 by Gatti.

Obviously would depend on which version of a 147 lb Gatti. When he Tko'd Daamgard, who was 37-0 at that time, That 147 lb version of Gatti would likely be a Great Opponent/Test for Mayorga. It would either go the distance, or maybe the ref would stop it in the later rounds, from Gatti being too Arm-weary/Arm heavy to defend himself well enough. If it went the distance, probably a 7-5 in rounds type of decision win for Mayorga. Gatti would very likely be totally worn out in the 12th round, and barely surviving,by clinching and stumble-circling. In a 15 round hypothetical, I think that all that extra muscle weight on Gatti's arms would most definitely have him absolutely done, either after the 12th or 13th round. :geek:

gatti’s record at welterweight wasn’t great obviously last couple of fights he was passed it but mayorga was bigger id fancy him to stop him 8-10 in a cracking fight though
