Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
The 2012 iteration of Chávez Jr. bludgeons Jake Paul to defeat, but I'm not so sure about the 2022 version.
The 35 year old Mexican seems to seek an early exit whenever his opponents makes things uncomfortable for him.
Julio often runs out of gas early during fights, because I don't think he trains properly, which means he might be tempted to quit as soon as he's running on empty.
But Jake Paul is still a novice and should "theoretically" (based on resumes) stand no chance against Chavez Jr., but I still feel he'll probably beat the Mexican.

Chavez Jr looks like crap for a few years.
I think this fight is closer than I would want it to be

Only fights Chavez jr should participate in should be bumfights where the winner gets a hundred dollar bill, a sixpack of beer and a dimebag of weed.

Jake Paul would batter the piss out of him.

Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Its impossable to know who wins without knowing what Charvez Jr will do. (the fact that he has turned down 3 million + PPV suggest he is there for cash not victory... but mabey its just negotiating.)
If charvez were to get off the drink and the cocain and put in a real 15 week camp he would beat paul no problem. But if he starts celebrating the paycheck befor the fight and just drinking tequila, snorting coke and fornicating hookers till 5 am then jake paul could potentialy do him.
If im jake paul im giving charves a few hundred grand up front.... Just to tempt him to have a bit of a party.

Didn't the fellow get his belt at 140 or something? How does that translate to 190 pound success?gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2021, 20:30 Its impossable to know who wins without knowing what Charvez Jr will do. Isn’t a small guy. 6 foot tall has hardly fought bellow 170 in a decade. Came in 185lb and didn’t look small in with Anderson silver (who was a decent size 185lber in mma where they cut way more weight).H8Usernames wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 05:00Didn't the fellow get his belt at 140 or something? Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
On one hand, Jake Paul has never fought an opponent with a pro boxing win (not to mention, his opponents probably have very few amateur boxing wins). On the other hand, Jr. lost to Anderson Silva, who is not a boxer, and Jr. is also giving up like 15 pounds or something. I'm tempted to suspect that Jr. would win, but I guess it's a little hard to predict when one of them hasn't been legitimately tested and the other is radically declined from his peak and a bit of a mess.
Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Step too far for The Problem Child.
JCC is only 35 ffs !
If he was over 40 and out the ring for a few years it would make sense, but JCCjr was a genuine World Champ in boxing not so long ago and wouldn't be giving away much natural size.
I say it doesn't happen.
(unless Paul knows that there is A LOT of partying going on Chez Jr.)

Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
His father was/is an absolute legend of the sport, and after such a lengthy career you would have expected him to be flooded in money/millions.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2021, 20:30 .. the fact that he has turned down 3 million + PPV suggest he is there for cash ...
From what I understand that's not the case though, hence why Chavez Jr. Is chasing the money.
It's got to be difficult to be brought up in luxury as a child, and then be expected to maintain that as an adult. It's a lot easier not knowing what your missing ..

If Jake Paul wants to go after a retired boxer wouldn't Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones jr be better picks?

Even at 56 years of age Hopkins kills Paul.H8Usernames wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 19:00 If Jake Paul wants to go after a retired boxer wouldn't Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones jr be better picks?

JCC Jr. redeems himself with a brutal stoppage.

Hopkins vs Paul would do serious numbers - great match !tiny_acres wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 19:12Even at 56 years of age Hopkins kills Paul.H8Usernames wrote: ↑28 Dec 2021, 19:00 If Jake Paul wants to go after a retired boxer wouldn't Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones jr be better picks?

Re: Jake Paul versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Six months ago Julio César Chávez Sr. looked (physically) much better against Héctor ‘Macho’ Camacho Jr. than how his son performed against Anderson Silva.
If Chávez Jr. had the discipline to train as diligently as his father, then even if Julio was completely shot, I’d expect him to have enough left in the tank to beat Jake Paul, but he doesn’t.
The Mexican won’t have the fitness and mental strength to exploit and execute his superior boxing knowledge and experience against Jake Paul.
Chávez Jr. will start fast, dominate the early rounds, inevitably fade, run out-of-gas and then quit the first time he has to overcome adversity.
It’s an embarrassment to the sport seeing a former world champion, a fighter I once considered very decent a decade ago, losing to the likes of Anderson Silva and inevitably Jake Paul.
It’ll be a cringeworthy money-making spectacle, if it does go ahead!
