Tonight I had a crazy dream about this fight. It was set, Whyte entered the ring, then Fury started to come out. In the process of the ring-walk Tyson suddenly introduced Tommy Fury, stopped somewhere in the crowd, while Tommy continued to move to the ring instead of Tyson, he was equipped and ready to fight Whyte replacing his brother. Whyte was looking at it with discontent. Jake Paul was in the crowd and after seeing Tommy going to fight instead of Tyson he got angry and started to break through the crowd in order to replace Whyte. There also was Mike Tyson in the crowd, he got mad because of the whole situation and he broke to the ring earlier than Paul, he also wanted to beat Tommy up, but when he got to Tommy, Tyson Fury suddenly appeared and whooped Mike badly in the street fight style. That's it.

Whyte does really good work and then seems to spoil it with side dramas.

Why fight so many contenders and fringe contenders, and then risk not taking his rightful shot at the champion?

If he’s unable to agree terms for Fury & before that a Joshua rematch, eventually he’ll come on the wrong side of those hard fights vs fringe/contenders ala Chisora… and ppl like Joyce, Wallin, Helenius (much improved), even Parker, will take his place… then he will really whine.

Whyte has very good potential. He dominated stretches of his bruising fights vs Parker & Rivas before getting clipped & suffering serious scares. But he’s walking on a knife edge as he’s one shot away seemingly from disaster.

Take the bloody title shot you’ve earned, man!

How much would Dillian make if he took 20% out on interest?

Depends on the winning purse bid.

Example: £10m winning bid. Whyte makes £2m before any deduction/tax etc.

Yeah, thanks for the complex math lesson.
I was wondering what a fight like this would generate as it will obviously be many millions.
In a UK stadium surely you’re looking 25m big ones.

Fury v Whyte would have a purse split of probably £1.5million to Whyte and £6million to Fury.

Plus a share of whatever PPV there was.

Yeh, the purse bid would give them the guaranteed amount. Then whatever the % of PPV’s.
Unless someone bids a daft amount and then makes a loss.

I’m curious what Whyte actually wants. Anyone get the feeling he wants to fight for the vacant title?

I think he should go for Fury. Fury’s changed his style permanently bulking up for Wilder, and probably has to fight the same style from now on, regardless of the opponent- coming forward trading and relying on weight, mass and size. Obviously a massive handful. But he could be open to shots from someone willing to give it a good go.

I dont think he knows what he wants. so many things at play. splits arnt set.

Obviosly if AJ can get his belst back you just want the WBC belt by any means nessasary. make your big bucks in the undisputed. But if usyk holds the other belts mabey its not that eye watering money and you should just get paid ASAP.

Interesting to know the toatal revenue of "Fury vs whyte for the WBC belt" vs "Whyte vs wilder for the vacant WBC belt". If you could get close to as much for a big split vs wilder as you would for a little split vs fury i think thats what you would want, because wilder is way more beatable.

Bob told IFL,

Fury’s next fight could be in March,

Either against:

Andy Ruiz in Vegas

Or

Helenius in Manchester UK.

WBC title would not be on the line in either.

So Whyte won’t fight Wallin and won’t fight Fury. And he wouldn’t fight Joshua in a rematch for the title.

So, who will he fight? I doubt he’ll want dangerous fights such as, say, Joyce.

Feel like Dillian has ruined all the good work he’s done and killed his own momentum.

How bizarre, because it’s odd to see a British fighter of his level fight so many contenders and fringe contenders, and then not even take his reward.

When you think Yeats back the likes of Bruno, Hide, Mason, we’re able to go into big fights without engaging in many risky fights. Ok Akinwande had some moderate tests, but only a couple.

It's all about money with him.

He doesn't seem confidence that he'll win a world title.

He probably thinks he has one shot, but he wants all the money in the world. It's mostly Hearn's fault too.

I’m not so sure.

He rejected AJ for good money because he probably wanted more than a month’s notice for it. If it was all about money then he probably would have taken it.

For Wallin he appears to have been legitimately injured. Again, gave up probably a couple of million by not fighting.

I can also understand him wanting more money for the Fury fight. He feels he deserves it and probably wants more money or a shot at purse bids.

And ‘The Body Snatcher’ insists he did not receive the value he thought he was worth in negotiations to take on Joshua a second time, but declared one particular detail was the reason he refused to sign off on a rematch.

“Me and him [Joshua] could sell out Wembley, him and Miller can’t. There’s the value. There’s genuine value and there’s an estimated value.

“This is boxing. I understand these guys want to get paid as much as they want because it’s a dangerous game, I get it. But let’s just fight.

“I’d have fought Joshua for what he offered me if it wasn’t for the rematch clause. They offered me less than I’d get as a mandatory so I may as well wait until I’m mandatory.

“You’re talking 12 or 15 per-cent of how much millions of pounds. Let’s be real about this. That’s neither here or there.

“Clearly they didn’t want the fight, they planned to fight Miller from last year. If you watch my interviews from last year, I said Joshua is going to fight Miller in America.

“Why didn’t you fight him at Wembley? Why are you going to fight him in America? DAZN needs that money.”

He declared: “This is why they offered me 10 weeks’ notice, while they’ve been trying to make the fight from three months ago.

“They gave Miller a 20-week notice, why is that? Because they weren’t serious about the fight. I need more than that to get ready.

“I’m not going to rush myself in 10 weeks, why give Miller 20 weeks and me 10 weeks? Why give Miller £8m or £10m and offer me whatever?

“It doesn’t make sense. Let’s be real, I bring more value than what Miller does. And I’m higher ranked across the board.”

I don't think Mller was offered more. He was due to get $6-7m

Whyte was offered £4m.

Probably the same.

Whyte's value hasn't exactly increased since then. He was flattened by Povetkin, then beat a twice COVID hit Povetkin, who basically hopped to the ring.

I was thinking after Miller was withdrawn. Whyte’s been focused on becoming mandatory so he gets what he believes is a fair split and doesn’t give up rematch options. It’s not how a lot will do it but I understand it all the same.

Warren Fires Back At Hearn Over Fury-Whyte Rematch Clause

“Well, first of all I think Tyson wins the fight,” Warren told IFL TV. “Secondly, anything can happen in boxing, so I get the situation regarding a rematch. If we got a rematch clause in there, in the meantime Joshua gets it on again with Usyk and whoever wins that fight, that means we’re now lumbered with a rematch clause and we can’t get the big fight that everyone wants to see.”

Warren, moreover, believes it is not in the public's interest to see Fury potentially fight Whyte for a second time.

“So I particularly don’t want to do that,” Warren continued. “I just want to see Tyson get in there, win the fight [against Whyte] and go and fight for all the belts. That’s what I want to see. That’s what part of these problems have been in the past… ‘doing a bad job for our client.’ We’ve done a good job for our client. He’s the number one heavyweight in the world. We've done a very, very good job for him. He’s the undisputed number one heavyweight. I don’t know where he comes from with that. What his views are and my views are obviously at times different.”

“All I want is Tyson to get one fight out — he’s only had one fight in 22 months — in March, then get rid of the obligation with Dillian Whyte based upon the terms of what’s been decided, then I want to see him come out that fight and fight for the four belts. I don’t want nothing else in the way. That’s a good job for boxing and our client, I believe.”

I'm on Frank's side, Eddie Hearn and Rematchroom are ruining boxing.

It should be one and done.

If there is so much controversy or bullshit ending, a rematch CAN be made.

Don't always need rematch clauses.

Rematches have always been around - it’s not just Matchroom. Lennox had them when he was the number 1, FW has loads of them over the years (Yarde/Arthur being the most recent), Arum’s had them and Matchroom have them.

When you’re commercially a bigger fighter and making a voluntary defence then I fully understand why a fighter/promoter would want one. Tyson is a much bigger draw (particularly in the US) than Whyte so I’m surprised Team Fury wouldn’t a rematch clause. I’m sure they have big confidence in Fury winning but I’m sure steam Galahad did too against Martinez.

The thing is, Usyk was a mandatory and Povetkin vs Whyte was declared as a title eliminator. So, Eddeh's quite linked to it.

Yeah - he’s linked to it because several of his fighters have lost in the last 18 months so the rematch clause has been used/discussed.

Usyk was mandatory but took an offer before purse bids that he was happy with that included a rematch because AJ is a much bigger commercial draw than he is. Klitschko did exactly the same with Fury - did a deal just before purse bids that included a rematch clause.

Same with Whyte/Povetkin. Whyte was worth more commercially and was WBC mandatory so brought more to the table than Povetkin - so they negotiated a rematch clause.
