Literally a comically bad round by round. Like a terrible movie that becomes a cult classic. So bad it is good in a masochistic sense.

King Kong was getting beatdown, then suddenly he wasn't.

Huge turnaround. Martin just went.

should of been stopped the second martin was standing in the corner like a lost child. that was horrific.

Also, last 2 punches of the first knock down were strait back of head, i mean it should of been stopped before them, but if your going to let it continue then you have to give a warning and and give recovery time or a point... If martin didnt get up there would of even been an argument for DQ (even though it should of been stopped from legal shots befor the illegal shots).

Oh that was a bad stoppage. Martin was coherent and talking.
Two KDs apiece.
Martin was winning every round bar the 2nd on my card.
Kong scored a good KD and then another, Martin was ok, but bleeding a bit. Really in a rematch I would expect Martin to win, but congrats to the old fella. Martin knocked him down with a power jab, that is a concern that his chin isn't what it was.
Good fight though. Tense because both guys had enough power for a one shot KD.
It really leads to nowhere, Joshua or Usyk would deal to either guy fairly easily. Its been too long for Kong and he is vulnerable as heck. Martin on the other hand has improved and has a good team behind him.

Martin was KO'd standing of the first left hand. should of been stopped right then and there. follow up shots kind of woke him up, but geezes thats not an early stop.

On the plus side, Luis Ortiz got the job done, still has a decent jab, and achieved a spectacular finish.

The major talking points are Ortiz’s lack of durability, coupled with him seemingly appearing shot, needing to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat via a one-punch style KO.

I think Luis Ortiz knows his time as being regarded as a top-ten world-rated heavyweight fighter is over.

Lots of prospects will be desperately hoping to face Ortiz now, using him as a stepping stone (gatekeeper) to elevate their careers.

However, I suspect the Cuban will duck high-risk low-reward opponents, whilst hoping to end his career receiving a decent retirement payday, by agreeing to be used as the sacrificial lamb to assist Andy Ruiz Jr’s world title ambitions.

He was talking to the ref, and steady on his feet. :maybe:
He was also firing back.
Maybe it was the $10 I had on Martin .

Look like hard decision to me. A fight that Martin was in up until that point and you are just supposed to stop it asap? Maybe.

You let it continue and illegal punches happen, partially your fault, are you gonna dq or give time because of that? Not an easy thing to do.

Enough is however enough, you don't want to be responsible for someones death so good that it was stopped.

Luis Ortiz just has such great fundamentals I would much prefer seeing him vs Tyson Fury than Dillian Whyte who simply doesn't know what he is doing. Fury would ofcourse kill Ortiz but atleast Ortiz would have a 1 punch ko chance unlike Whyte.

agree, ortiz is lined up for ibf elliminator with hrg but fornicate he wont want that..., Ruiz vs ortiz will get ortiz 5 times the money, be a more winnable fight, and if he wins it one of the world champs will probably fight him as an easy voluntary.

This ending was on the table from the start, you saw that. The better man most certainly did win but it's kind of interesting to see this fight cause it is obvious that Charles Martin almost has the keys to beat Ortiz, stylistically Ortiz couldn't get a more difficult opponent, Charles Martin probably won't do very well against anyone else but he'll always be a boogeyman for Ortiz.

And without knowing who your top 5 are No. Ortiz beats Joshua with ease, Usyk and Dillian. No idea what happens vs Andy, Wilder ofcourse beats him like we have seen before and so does Fury.

Joshua pumps out a longer, harder, rangier power jab than Martin. And that was enough to sit Ortiz on his arse like the canvas had been pulled out from under him...

Joshua did when he was enjoying those good peds. Now that he doesn't have them anymore he isn't any better than his british rival Dillian and certainly not better than Ortiz. Styles also make fights, Joshua isn't a counterpunching southpaw.

It’s not a final IBF eliminator, since it was only an eliminator.

It’s a confusing situation that hasn’t been clarified by the IBF.

Filip Hrgovic and Zhilei Zhang are in talks over a separate IBF eliminator.

I don’t expect Luis Ortiz to face the winner of that fight to become the mandatory for pennies, especially considering there’ll be a lengthy wait for the title shot.

Instead, I expect Ortiz to prefer to receive a much bigger payday facing one of his fellow PBC stablemates (specifically Andy Ruiz Jr.).
