How on earth is his chin questionable after walking straight on to Wilder's best punch and then getting up? I'll wait for Tony to tell me Wilder hits like a girl....

Whether it was official or not is fairly irrelevant. Referees can make poor judgement calls in the heat of the moment. What you have earlier suggested is that Tyson Fury was better than Lennox Lewis because Lewis never got off the floor to win a fight. This isn’t true. I think the rabbit hole you’re going down with all this is problematic because Fury is still an active fighter. It would be surprising for me if he didn’t finish his career being stopped a number of times because I think his chin is a bit questionable and his approach to training no longer appears professional. Every fight he appears now to be carrying more body fat and the training camps are shorter and more chaotic.
He's in training now with Parker. We will never know how anyone would get on with people from different eras. I'm just stating facts.
Mickey, do you seriously think Fury beats Lewis on his best night ?
I think Fury is definitely in the ATG HW Top 10 and a big favourite to beat Iron Mike- who might scrape in @ 10 ? - but it's a bit of a stretch to see him beating Lewis.

IF you do think that, then he must be approaching GOAT status for you ?

I don’t see how Fury can be put in an ATG list when his career isn’t over. I remember some lists for the top British heavyweights being made in Boxing News when David Haye was on the rise. I think they had him as second only to Lennox Lewis on that list! Now he’s probably way down. If Fury gets knocked out by say Whyte a trap door instantly opens.

Holyfield was questioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission about HGH usage following his 1994 loss to Michael Moorer. There was also PED packages send to ‘Evan Fields.’ But of course none of the mud really stuck. I’d imagine all those heart issues re Moorer 1 was overdoing stacks. But I wound imagine Lewis was on stuff too. He certainly bulked up a good stone plus of muscle as he went on.
The 'heart issue' was cleared up in 1995 but the story won't die. It wasn't a heart issue, it was a misdiagnosis because the hospital had his body pumped full of morphine. There's a more technical explanation on HBO pre fight before the Mercer fight for those who weren't there at the time.

He did go into the Moorer fight with a shoulder injury, but no heart problems.
...and let me guess, Holyfield wasn't a massive PED abuser either?
They all are!

I'll leave the trolling up to you Mick .. you've been doing such a great job so far🤣

To summarize. Tyson has achieved so much; yet actually done very little.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest Wilder was quite unskilled compared to most decent world heavyweight champions of the modern era. He hit the target a few times but generally missed a lot. I think a lot of top fighters would have found a way to hit Fury and keep hitting him. Probably trying to be the 19 stone strongman in there would have made it easier for them. I kind of suspect that approach is only really washing against someone as uncultured as Wilder. I think Fury at 19 stone gets beaten fairly soon.

Apparently no-one in history could stop Fury, and no-one in history could outpoint him either. He truly is the GOAT.

Wilders technique when finishing off Big Audrey was a masterclass,no wild flailing there, just controlled pinpoint accuracy, how can you say he was dogshite

The Mike Tyson that lost to Holyfield, to Lewis, etc is not the MIKE Tyson that beat bruno, spinks or Trevor B.
After being jailed and being messed up, Mike Tyson is not the same.
Lewis is a more disciplined fighter and more technical, that's why he last longer.
But Tyson Fury can not be counted out, I will still give Fury a chance because I can see an improvement with him.

Although judging by the local social media around Lancaster and Morecambe, Fury’s advanced sports nutrition does still involve eating a lot of curry and cake!

If there is one thing that winds me up about Tyson revisionists, it's the line about "oh Tyson loved the tall ones, he just mowed them down".... As I remember, Tyson always struggled or was extended by any over 6'3....Mitch Green 6'5, Bonecrusher Smith 6'4, Jose Ribalta 6'6, Buster Douglas 6'4, Tyrell Briggs 6'5, Lennox Lewis 6'5, Tony Tucker 6'5, Kevin McBride 6'6 etc. let's just Bury this myth.

Good point. While we're at it can we bury the myth Bruno could fight and would beat Wlad etc? Watch his fights again, esp the early ones where he's bowling over skinny and / or fat guys. He's awful. Stiff, doesn't punch correctly. Joshua makes Bruno look like Ali (or Hughie Fury. :D )

He looks enormous and muscular next to the other guys and just batters them with his strength and admitted power. Its like some huge young bully beating up old men.

This 'Bruno almost beat a prime Tyson' fable is nauseating. Brunon is a man who made his reputation on his losses. His only half decent win was against a guy with a severe drug problem who got lucky against a sloppy Lewis. I def belive lower tier champs like Ibragimov/ Chagaev would've beaten him. He's that crude. Plus if you do bang him on the chin he'll just freeze with that stupid look on his face.

Yeah that pretty much sums him up... He was a strong powerful heavyweight, with a good jab, who could look devastating against fringe contenders and guys on the slide, but ultimately he was always found wanting against the best of his era... The current era may not be as strong as years gone by, but he'd only have the proverbial punchers chance in these days in my opinion.

It's true, Bruno was very limited, and never beat a world class fighter in their prime.

I think McCall was world class in the sense he continued for quite a while being mustard for fringe world class types - he really knackered Akinwande's career for example. But really not on the day Bruno beat him. He was basically catatonic bar waking up in the final two rounds.
