Gone are the days of heavyweights like Liston, Ali, Foreman, Frazier etc., heavyweight boxers who ducked no one.

To be fair, there are fundamental issues with the IBF’s rules.

For instance, Dillian Whyte, Jarrell Miller and other fighters rejected opportunities to engage in an IBF final eliminator against Kubrat Pulev, because the IBF’s rules stipulated they’d inly receive a 25% split of the purse.

This issue is compounded by the fact that Hrgovic is a commercially unpopular fighter.

I’ve discussed this at length numerous times.

And I’ve always maintained that none of the top-tier world-rated fighters would even consider sharing the ring with Filip Hrgovic for peanuts.

In those days, Hrgovic wouldn't be a contender with that resume. It's maddening, but I still don't blame any of these names not taking the fight. Hrgovic can't draw flies, and no one will share a ring with him for peanuts. High risk, low reward fight because no one will care if you beat Hrgovic outside of the boxing forums. Ajagba/Sanchez didn't elevate either fighter , but while they were both nobody prospects, Ruiz Jr., King Kong, Parker, etc. are actual names.

I agree with Bandog inasmuch as a three day deadline two days off a tough fight is suspicious, ridiculous, and should be laughed at.

A fighter should be thinking of nothing other than his health and recuperation for the time being, especially at the age of 62, or whatever Ortiz’s actual age is.

He, and his team knew this was coming, the winner of the Martin Ortiz fight would have to fight Hrgovic. It was known before the Martin Ortiz fight was even made. So signing to face Hrgovic was a given for the winner, they could have timed the fight for 3 months time, as long as they agreed to the fight.
So in my mind it quacks like a duck, therefore it is a duck or duck impersonator

Yes, I'm sure money and age are his deciding factors. One maybe two more fights. He is so prime for the picking. If Charles Martin can dominate him and drop him twice, well so can at least half the boxrec top 12.
