It’s the BS that they were talking. Tyson saying Tommy would beat Jake with cracked ribs etc. Tommy gets a cracked rib and rightly pulls out of the fight but it makes him look weak when it shouldn’t.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Dec 2021, 11:08Yeh, his dad and Tyson and talking for him, and it's not making Tommy look any better,maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2021, 10:11 I quite like Tommy - seems a nice enough lad.
He’s been stitched up a a little by Tyson/his Dad giving it large which has made it even worse for him pulling out of the fight.
Him and FW will be desperate to get it back on but he’s not a big name in the US so will only get it if Jake wants to and thinks he can easily beat him.

after watching jake paul properly for the first time i wasn’t impressed at all the only punch that anyone needs to worry about is the overhand right , yes he carries power but has no stamina or head movement id back fury to box rings round paul

Yeah I think Tommy has lost his chance. Also he had hardly done any work publicising the fight, especially in the biggest market, the US.maverick23 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2021, 10:11 I quite like Tommy - seems a nice enough lad.

Masvidal would be a much much bigger fight in the US. Tommy may help it do a little bit of business over here but I can’t imagine many of his love island fans will be wanting to stay up until 4am and pay £20 for the privilege to watch it.
I don’t know much about UFC contracts but can UFC signed guys contractually fight for other promotions?

Technically GSP is still signed under UFC, although he's retired.
That's why he was not able to have any boxing matches. Dana blocked them.
Their UFC contract needs be expired or they need to be released.
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
Fury has missed the boat, Paul will earn more and get more prestige fighting retired UFC stars.
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
Yeah.
I was surprised JP picked Fury in the first place.
Unless the fight is in UK Tommy brings a lot of risk and little reward.
He’s a real boxer of a similar level and - for the first time - size.
He’s unknown in the US and not even that big of a draw over her

Yeah, Paul can make a lot of money and noise against loads of guys, and represents Fury's biggest winnable fight by miles. A million was on the table for someone who isn't good enough to win a major belt.
Masvidal should also jump at the chance.

Think John Fury has blew Tommys fight , his mouth just can't keep shut , he'll say its all in the windup , but facts are he becomes an abusive bully type , the more he opens it , think he's just cost his son a huge amount of money , and why just so he himself stays in the spotlight ,, starting to agree with this Porky fella about John Fury , nothing but a big mouth bully , ,

As I've said before, Mick is no more than a middleweight. They keep mocking Big John for losing to Akinwande. Mick has never boxed. I'm sure it's Tyson's pr team keeping this from happening. And covid. And the fact the heavyweight champion of the world's dad doesn't need to give a car cleaner any airtime! Especially one who trades on Lenny Mccleans name, who got knocked out anytime he fought a boxer. Porky needs to step up.

then let john ice him off in the ring, get it done, john (and mickster) talks too much and doesnt act enough
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
I have only seen little bits on Instagram on Jake Paul so could be well wrong; he still seems to have that sicky-nice Disney thing going on around the trash talk.
The interview giving the Rolex watch to Woodley for Xmas was obviously an eye to his PR image .. he came across as being obnoxious, but also nice too
The John Fury interview was just ugly and nasty .. I'm not sure Jake Paul will want to be associated with that.

Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
John actually missed an opportunity to come out of all that has a good guy ,, he could of laughed , done interviews with Kugan , turning it into a joke , and said for sure ,, lets do it for the NHSS we'll take expenses ,, the NHSS get the rest ,, course we all know after expenses be bugger all left ,,,
But regardless a bit of humility , a bit of sportsmanshp and a lot of humor , and John could of made himself look good , the actual fight , c'mon now John was a pro boxer , ridiculing him for getting ko'd by who he did is stupid , he said he's kept in shape we know he's in the gym , would of been sparring and preparing with a world champ ,, you really have to favor John ,, He could of got in there with Theo and probably made him look silly , give him a few hard clips for being cheeky and asking for it ,, then made him look silly get a laugh at Theo's expense , walked away has agreat guy .
BUT he did'nt why because he's a bully , he took the challenge has an insult , started making threats and then refused to go ahead with it , for what reason , only one reason i can think off ,, scared of losing , yet that porkys mate has posted a few calls from john making threats ,, the man is a joke , and stupid enough he could'nt even see the opportunity to make himself a good guy

I reckon that's what the white collar circuit is for unless they are demanding certain tests in order to be able to compete on such shows these days.
Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
I am not sure it is Tyson's pr team as surely they would keep him from doing any interviews at all and try to prevent a situation like that Jake Paul debacle, as it all looks bad on Tyson.mickey1975 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2021, 02:43As I've said before, Mick is no more than a middleweight. I don't think Porky mocks John for losing to those opponents but mainly to highlight John's claim to be a road man killer as being bullshit.
There is also the other claims such as 3 in uk, 5 in Europe and 20 in world or whatever it was.
Porky claims to have fact checked that in the historical rankings and can find no evidence of it. The same for this massive bench press that he claims to do as well. I think there are plenty of other whoppers as well.
I can't say I have got an issue with calling bullshit out. However, it should be other channels such as ifl, boxing social etc that are calling it out, not Porky.

you can see ppl calling out john triggers him badly, all this stuff about him being the hw champ's son means f@ck all , these dudes still get to him
he boxed decades ago but his mouth acts like he's koing dudes left and right today, so how about a scrap in the ring? maybe he'll finally get over his insecurity and wont always feel so threatened when called out

I think we're looking at a future Jake Paul opponent - he has got down to cruiserweight with a weight loss of 13 stones so well done to him!

Re: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury | BT PPV - 2022
allegedly Provides Latest on Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury Possibility
Things don't appear to be getting any closer for a potential fight between undefeated light heavyweight prospect Tommy Fury and social media star Jake Paul.
They were scheduled to collide back in December, with Fury withdrawing with a training camp injury. Fury was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, who Paul brutally knocked out.
Fury finally saw action in April, when he picked up a stay-busy decision win on the undercard to older brother Tyson Fury's WBC title defense against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London.
Paul is planning to fight again on August 13, with no opponent currently finalized. Several names have been kicked around, including UFC veteran Anderson Silva, who last year picked up two boxing wins in sanctioned fights.
Fury is still eager to do the fight, but he also wants to see action sooner than later. Warren wants to get something lined up as soon as possible to avoid too much inactivity.
"We have got a couple of things we are working on at the moment, we have got to announce something soon because he has itchy feet," Warren told iFL TV. "He wants to get out there he wants to be out in the next few months so we will work something out.
"I still want to do the fight with Jake and I would still like to get that on. It is still realistic from our end but who knows from their end, but of course we would like to see that happen. There was a few discussions initially but we will see what happens."
