agree, i think he's an accident waiting to happen if matched vs live bodies now. that said he's got some physical tools , is getting excellent sparring (joyce, fury, etc) and clearly has good backing and can get the right opponents, and that can go a long way in improving a guy.

they should match him tough in the gym and keep the learning and refinement going there.. go the soft touch opposition route for a couple years so he can keep developing in training (though this opposition can still include durable opponents), then when he's 24-25 he's still really young for a hw and better equipped for a challenge

Exactly that, he is a guy without amateur experience but he is young.
Plenty of time to bring him on in the gym and you don't need to risk him in proper fights.
Sells plenty of tickets so he more than pays for himself.

Steady Eddie said they want to fight him 8 times next year. Spain, Italy, USA, and a few locations around england. Called it a world tour, like that for a 4-0...

Like the 8 fights mentality, thats what he needs, Cool to show him around i guess, but hard to see how going to spain makes sense when your selling bulk tickets in UK... But mabey it will just be nessasary to fight in those places to get to the 8 fights.

I think getting him out loads is the right thing to do. I think Eddie’s struggled in recent years with keeping his prospects active.

Given he’ll be fighting crap opposition for another year at least I think it’s actually unfair to expect his fans to pony up 6/7 times a year so having him fight abroad takes the pressure off a little and gives him a new experience.

Yea good point on the Giving the fans a break. 7 or 8 opponents isnt an easy find right now, Feel right now there is a lack of low levle guys to feed him (fair enough too, who wants to make a crust that way).

Fair play to the fella I say. He's got the guts to step in the ring and people want to see him fight, good for him. They will guide him carefully and rightly so. He might get a shot at the British down the line and isn't that something well would all love.

There have been guys who early doors I’ve not been impressed with at all that have gone on to a really good level (Conor Benn being a recent example) but a lot of it depends on how seriously he takes it and the people he’s around.

I think the Tibbs camp is good one for him but it seems he loves a Chinese as much as his dad which he’ll probably need to reduce to maximise his potential. He’s a smart lad which usually helps.

Absolutely what he was a year ago, Basically what he is right now.

But is young he seems physically gifted, smart enough to learn and driven enough to keep at it and has a quality trainer. Plus now he sells tickets he will have financial backing.

Johnny fisher now gets smoked at British levle. But who knows how good he can get. Joyce started boxing at 22, AJ at 18, whyte at 20… fisher started younger or as young as any of them, and is now 21 with so much opportunity to improve.

AJ won an olympic gold and won 3 belts, he got lucky, but even with luck hard to deny he is quality.

Its true johnys ability to do other things could cost him a bit, probably be less inclined to do tons of hard sparing and subject himself to wars. but i dunno, if he does it right evey chance at becoming pretty decent.

Disagree about Joyce having nothing else.

He’s a very good artist who I’m pretty sure has some qualifications to go along with it.

He chose boxing.

Apparently fighting a 6ft5 Spaniard who has a win over Alvaro Tererro. Something like a 10-11 record but all his KO losses coming to genuine prospects.
