Bunce falls down with his arse licking and not challenging the status quou. Every time the board / referee / judges fornicate up we get rob smith on his podcast for an hour telling us the sky is green. The recent pod with Ben Davison was a joke too , apparently all trainers in the UK are lazy except him. Bunce just nodded along and it was George groves who shot it down.

He’s excellent in boxing news and his book was a brilliant read.

Is it his opinions? - insights? - insider knowledge? - historical knowledge? - predictions?

i remember there was that bring back buncey campaign like a decade ago, and he just ended up slagging off the ppl who started it for him, total cockball

He does one article a week that can be anything really. Behind the scenes review of a recent fight, look back at a fighter, rivalry or show from the past. It’s normally interesting but I wouldn’t be kicking off if it was replaced with something else.

Yes - that high pitched screech he starts every sentence off from has got to translate better in print .. how he successfully made the move away from print is one of lifes mysteries.

I too remember the `Bring back Bunce' campaign .. I wonder if there would be another as successful if he was to be dropped again? he seems to have distanced himself away from that section of people who called for his return nowadays.

For all his faults; he is ultimately a trained and experienced journalist. Writing stuff is undoubtedly his strength/skill.
Where he comes unstuck is when he steps away from writing and having the security to evidence it with facts he can Google, and relies on his personality where his arrogance trips him up.

BN has always had a good number of boxing writers. Getting my BN on a Friday made it really feel like the weekend was coming - pretty sure it came out on a Thursday officially - but last going off it was usual to get it on the Monday; that and the amount of adverts and pictures instead of articles was the last straw.

I haven't the patience to do it that way

I argue/reason that it will allow me to analyse the fight better. See if there were traps laid beforehand - if there was a big KO; whether the scoring was fair - if claimed to be controversial. Or simply avoid it if it's a stinker.
