Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
12 rounds-heavyweights.
Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Roy Jones Jr 120-108
Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Jones was one of the most naturally gifted fighters ever. Very unorthodox, like Ali but different.
But Spinks wasn't a slow plodding Ruiz. He was explosive and raw. Maybe Jones does beat him but I dont think it would be a shut out

Easy night for Roy.
Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Jones clear decision
Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Let's assume this is the Leon that beat Ali in 1978. I think he'd win about 2 or 3 rounds against Roy at best.
Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Roy could win. But the Spinks of 1978? Roy couldn't fully hang. Leon beats Jones in a 7-5 UD.

I mean I still think he'd lose, but he'd be aggressive enough that he'd put up a fight and give Roy a hard go of it.Cutman Scabbers wrote: ↑16 Jan 2022, 03:51I tend to agree. Leon Spinks in 1978 had some serious force of nature energy -- the kind that runs right over technique.

Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
leon couldnt even beat scotty ledoux right before fighting ali, he simply wasnt all that good and caught ali at a great time
not sure what this super version of leon is that some ppl are talking about

Re: Roy Jones Jr. versus Leon Spinks
Maybe it was because Ali didn't train properly, but Leon sure looked unstoppable that night!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑17 Jan 2022, 03:29 leon couldnt even beat scotty ledoux right before fighting ali, he simply wasnt all that good and caught ali at a great time

It's all good. I am thinking Leon's aggressiveness will offset anything Roy has at this weight.Cutman Scabbers wrote: ↑17 Jan 2022, 03:21Sorry, I meant to agree with this.
I could see that young Leon running Roy out of the ring.
