he looked pretty good to me. i think he would easily be champion today. this is a very good win for joe louis. nova had good size 6'3 205lb, very strong, good jab, good power, good combination puncher, good body movement, durable, etc. he was the first man since joe louis to annihalate baer. baer may have been far past his prime, but he was still dangerous and nova took him apart.
heres a small clip of nova in action

i would have liked to see nova take on some of the highly avoided black contenders of the late 30s
nova very well built. check out his huge legs and
arms

Lou Nova
Lou Nova was a very good heavyweight during the 30's and 40's. When he fought Joe Louis, Louis was kind ofapprehensive in the early rounds hearing some prior talk about Nova, yoga, and his svengali like manager, however he dismissed all this and proceeded to give Nova a real bad beating, stopping him in the later rounds.

Novas weakness was that he was a 'worrier' and used to try all these new age things such as meditating before fights... he also had a very pooor defence ....one story about him is that he was pretty much ruined as a fighter before Louis even got to him by Tony Galento who gave Lou a real pasting in their fight... he was never really the same fighter after the Galento fight...
