Marlon Starling vs Pipino Cuevas

Post by zuru »

15 Rd Welterweights
Starling had a great defense. Cuevas did not.As good as Starlings chin was,Cuevas can hurt and ko him if he can connect.15 rds is a long time.Is Starling able to box, counterpunching and avoiding getting hit?Can he keep Cuevas off him?

Cuevas throws everything but the kitchen sink at Starling over the first 6 rds, then Moochie counter punches with a vengeance in route to a 12th rd stoppage.

Same, except I would go UD because I think he’d box the 12th careful. Sometimes I thought he could have gone for it more often

I knew a guy once who said Starling couldn't box. I said "whattya mean he can't box ?" his answer was, all he does is puts his arms up around his face and then walks into guys. Funny thing was he was pretty knowledgeable about boxing.

Marlon anywhere from 6th to 10th. Each round from the 2nd he takes Pipino apart.
