It is for D. Whyte advantage if this will happen. But I also want to see Fury vs Joshua, which I can see that Fury will win.
Also Fury vs USYK, I want to see if the boxing skills of both and how are going to execute it.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - Purse Bid
Arum Urges Dillian Whyte To “Stop Messing Around” And Work Out A Deal For Fury Fight
Will the Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte fight go to purse bids, or will the two sides manage to come to an agreement and reach a deal before the January 18th deadline? Bob Arum, who co-promotes reigning WBC heavyweight champ Fury with allegedly, spoke with Sky Sports and the Top Rank boss urged Whyte to “stop messing around” and come to the negotiating table. Arum recently called Whyte greedy for asking for a reported £10 million for the fight, while Whyte and his promoter Eddie Hearn feel an 80-20 split in favour of Fury is not fair.
Now, Arum says it’s time for Whyte to “prove that he is of a world-class calibre by taking on Fury.”
“If he wants the fight and stops messing around, he can get a good payday,” Arum said of Whyte. “We’d like to do that fight. It’s a good fight for the UK. Whyte should sit down with myself and with allegedly and work out a deal for a guarantee, and we’ll get this show on the road. Come to the table and let’s see if we can carve out a real deal. Let’s quit screwing around. I don’t know Dillian but I would think he wants the fight. I don’t know his psyche. Let’s let Oleksandr Usyk fight Anthony Joshua, which is contracted, and let’s get Fury and Whyte to fight.”
The money issues aside, Fury Vs. Whyte IS a good fight for the UK, and it could prove to be a testing fight for both men. And if Fury-Whyte does happen, along with Usyk-Joshua II, fight fans will have a great time of things this spring. Whyte we know has earned his shot, he’s been waiting and waiting and waiting. Now, one would think Whyte, 28-2(19) would be happy to take Arum up on his offer and sit down at the negotiating table.
But again, will this happen before the purse bids deadline rolls around? January 18th, next Tuesday, is not far away at all….

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - Purse Bid
I think title fights should be fixed at 50:50, 60:40 or 70:30.
Seferi and Pianeta were 10%ers; Schwarz and Wallin a touch more. Fury didn't have a belt then, so fine. But now that he does, anyone who isn't worth 30 has no business challenging. And Whyte is worth 30. So's Parker and Ruiz, with others looking to emerge in the frame soon.
I don't care if one side's massively more popular than the other, belts should always dictate their joint worth. Else what's the point in having them. Let's have an end to trying to escape mandatories with lowballs; to challengers shying away over splits.

TBF. Purses don’t really have much to do with whether there is a belt on the line or not.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 23:55 I think title fights should be fixed at 50:50, 60:40 or 70:30.

Hope I’m not wrong, but the fact that things have gone pretty quiet should hopefully be a good sign that they’re cracking on with the negotiations and it may well get done. A purse bid is not good for either side, especially not for DAZN at 80/20, so I hope to hear a deal is done in the next few days.

I'd just like to see mandatory splits for title fights, so that all this haggling over who's the most popular gets in the bin.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 04:12TBF. Purses don’t really have much to do with whether there is a belt on the line or not.
70% should never feel unfair for a champion making a legit defence, and if you really are that popular, it's 95% what most other champs get.

I’d agree with you usually but we get far too many mandatories who just don’t deserve to be there so 30% of a big pot of money is unfair. Does Jack Catterall deserve 30% against Taylor? Or the Thai fighter in the 2020? Or Yildrim against Canelo?Grilling Machine wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 19:34I'd just like to see mandatory splits for title fights, so that all this haggling over who's the most popular gets in the bin.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 04:12TBF. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - Purse Bid
I think a purse bid is good for everyone. Almost certainly Dillian will get more than the $5m he’s been offered and Tyson will be well paid too.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑15 Jan 2022, 18:31 Hope I’m not wrong, but the fact that things have gone pretty quiet should hopefully be a good sign that they’re cracking on with the negotiations and it may well get done. It’ll be interesting to see if DAZN win whether Tyson goes ahead with the fight. I really hope he doesn’t swerve it for that reason.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - Purse Bid
If it stays 80/20 split then it’s definitely not good for Whyte. I assume DAZN will outbid Top Rank and Eddie will need to bid 25mil just for Whyte to get what he was previously offered anyway.maverick23 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2022, 11:34I think a purse bid is good for everyone. If it goes to purse bids then the fight doesn’t happen and either Tyson vacates or more likely Whyte chucks his number 1 spot away and goes a different way.
Whyte should take his 5mil… and take his chance at beating a heavyweight great.
The way Tyson lives his life… who knows what shape he comes into the ring in.
Whyte is thick as pig shit and obviously very stubborn and ill-advised.
No way Top Rank/DAZN bid over 12mil for this.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte - Purse Bid
The 5.5m was only a guarantee though off 25% of the pie. When it’s all said and done that will would have translated to a much higher total purse for the Body Snatcher. Maybe even 10-12m if they sold the hell out of the PPV. So Eddie has to ensure Whyte gets around the same in a bid, then Fury needs paying at 80% so he would be getting around 40m based on the split. The figures don’t add up for either and defiantly not DAZN to bid for that, unless they are going to completely disregard the clear business risks involved.Dioufy wrote: ↑16 Jan 2022, 18:34If it stays 80/20 split then it’s definitely not good for Whyte. Remember they have to find money to pay for AJ - Usyk 2 Assuming there still trying to take him off Sky that will be mega bucks. Eddie said he’s also trying to get Canelo back, so that fight will cost about 40m if he’s able too do a deal for him.
Plus he’s got to manage his budget for his normal fights.
Anyway there is no way that Arum & Warren will allow Fury to fight on DAZN- as you suggest, he will vacate before that happens.
If Whyte loses out on this fight, your right - he would be pig ignorant and dumb as rocks.

No way they bid over 12m?! That’s crazy. I think all parties will bid substantially more than that.Dioufy wrote: ↑16 Jan 2022, 18:34If it stays 80/20 split then it’s definitely not good for Whyte. It’s a fight that if it was on Sky would do c.1m buys and sell out probably any arena. With Tyson’s profile in the US they’d get money from there too and they even be able to sell it for a decent rights fee in Saudi.
Eddie will be bidding $35m I think.

It’s hard to know what the % split will look like. It will have probably been x% on revenues over a certain amount.Manchester Hitman wrote: ↑16 Jan 2022, 20:12The 5.5m was only a guarantee though off 25% of the pie. If it goes to purse bids and DAZN, why should Tyson vacate? Surely it’ll be big money for him and a good fight. It wouldn’t be a good look for him to give up the belt and then fight someone like Helenius and then gives more credence to everyone who slates the bulk of his opponents/lack of title defences.

Feel like if this doesn't go perfect for Fury he will become franchise champ, and whyte will become Email champ.
Then the question begins, who would Usyk/AJ winner chose to fight if thats what happened.... Surely whyte for the "undisputed history" as its a lot easier, then Fury. but i dont know.
