Joseph Parker: I’ll never fight Tyson Fury

Parker: I’ll never fight Tyson Fury

Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury are training together in England and have apparently forged a solid friendship.

“We have a great relationship,” Parker told talkSPORT. “He treats me like a younger brother, his whole family looks after me. I’ve based myself here in Morecambe now. I’ve stayed in his house, I’m using his gym. I think I’ll never fight him. I’ll let him do his thing and fight everyone else. I’ll try to go another path and do my best to win the other belts if I can.”

“I’m back into training, back into training camp with Tyson. We’ve got Sonny Bill Williams here doing some training for his fight, David Nyika back on board. It’s great to be back training.”

I was thinking that too. He's gonna let Fury do his thing, and he's gonna go down which path exactly.

Putting his career on hold?

He did actually quote saying, 'He THINKS'.. not saying never.

There does seem to be a lot of respect there, Parker being a few years younger, already a former world champion and looks likely to stay in the game longer than Fury anyway. They've been close now for over 4 years.

In the body sparring video, Parker looked like a super middleweight next to Tyson.

Yep. Size difference looked massive although I thought Tyson looked at least a couple of stone heavier than when he fought Wilder. Even without it though the size difference would be big.

If fury gets all the belts, he drops them strait away anyway most likly. Parker positions for a vacant. Whats awkward is if parker gets a belt and fury gets the other 3..... in that case i think they would fight. Iv seen parker say this befor, but then he has often added a litte "well if we both want to and there going to pay us enough" type statement.

Hell of a leap - New Zealand to bloody Morecambe! (Which is a rundown, desolate version of Blackpool for those who have never had the joy.) Let’s hope he gets more out of it than Eddie Chambers, who never seemed to do a thing after joining the Fury camp.

I don't think Tyson lives in the rough part.

I’ve walked past his house. It is a nice big detached house on the canal, more a nearby suburb than the town itself. But Morecambe as an area is awful, in the sense it’s rundown, derelict buildings, high crime; drugs and burglaries. Lancaster next door is much nicer and doesn’t have the same issues. I can’t imagine Parker will exactly grow to love the place.

Yeah, basically a stones throw. In terms of roadwork there are some good beach trails to follow. Pretty flat area, so you wouldn’t really get in the rolling Welsh hills that served say Joe Calzaghe so well. I’m local to the area and I’ve seen Fury in Lancaster with his mates. His height is just insane. There’s no way that is in anyway exaggerated! Lol

Tyson has visited the Diprose brothers from Lancaster in Hmp Full Sutton a few times. His mates are mainly Lancaster.

I do think he’s extremely talented, but I don’t like the weight gain thing very much. It was terrific he surprised Wilder like that in the second fight, but for my money he should aim for the shape he was in against Wlad in every fight from now on.

Frazier and Norton had a similar thing going on. If Fury keeps winning and Parker puts some consecutive big wins together I bet they'll change their minds and find stuff about the other one they do not like. :OhYes:

Beat me to the post. Another relationship robbing us of a decent or at least interesting fight.

Parker obviously knows he’s got no chance of beating Tyson after training with him.

Joseeph and Fury have become great friends over the years. Personally I think it's quite heart warming.

I had to watch it twice to see that it was Parker, he looked so small. One of Tyson's easiest fights if they ever did get it on.
