Press Release

Demetrius Andrade will top a World title quadruple-header as he defends his WBO World Middleweight against Jason Quigley at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on Friday November 19, live worldwide on DAZN.

TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE THIS WEEK – FULL DETAILS TO BE RELEASED

Andrade (30-0 18 KOs) puts his crown on the line for the fifth time and the Rhode Island star will be looking for a statement win as he hunts the unification blockbusters with his fellow belt holders at 160lbs. The 33 year old, who picked up the vacant strap in his first fight with Eddie Hearn in Boston in October 2018, will make it five straight fights with European challengers when he steps through the ropes against Quigley.

Quigley (19-1 14 KOs) moved into prime position to land a World title shot in May by beating Golden Boy stablemate Shane Mosley Jr by majority decision in a thriller in Las Vegas, and the former amateur star becomes the second Irishman to challenge ‘Boo Boo’ after Luke Keeler took on the WBO ruler in Miami in January 2020.

“November 19, it’s me again,” said Andrade. “Jason Quigley, world rated, good amateur pedigree, decent skills, comes to fight, and hats off to him, he’s actually willing to step in the ring with me, which you can’t say for any of these other so-called top guys. On November 19 though I show him that there are levels to this game.

Just keep winning, that’s all I can do. Go in there, handle my business, do my job, look sensational, come out healthy and then it’s onto the next. If you have a belt at 160 or 168 lbs, let’s go. Put the politics aside, have your people call Eddie. Let’s get down to business. Charlo, stop running your mouth, making up excuse after excuse. You’re a fighter, let’s fight bro. GGG, where you at? Unify against Murata and then let’s put the three belts on the line next year.

“Canelo you going to run up to 175? Cool, I can meet you there, no problem. First things first though, I need to go out on November 19, defend my championship belt, and put on a spectacular performance, and that’s exactly what I plan on doing.”

“I’ve worked my whole career to get into this position of becoming world champion,” said Quigley. “Demetrius is a great champion but now it’s my time and that World title is coming back to Ireland.”

Three more World title fights in support of Andrade’s clash with Quigley are led by Murodjon Akhmadaliev defending his IBF and WBA World Super Bantamweight titles against Ronny Rios.

Akhmadaliev (9-0 7 KOs) was at his spiteful best last time out, putting the challenge of Ryosuke Iwasa to bed in the fifth round of his first professional outing in his homeland of Uzbekistan. ‘MJ’, who became unified champion in just his eighth fight in the paid ranks by ripping the belts from Daniel Roman, puts the belts on the line for the second time in New Hampshire and does so against his WBA mandatory challenger and #1 in the rankings.

Rios (33-3 16 KOs) is in great form heading into his second World title challenge, heading to the east coast on the back of four wins, the latest being the only one to go the distance in February in Indio, California with a wide points win over Oscar Negrete.

“I would like to thank my promoters Eddie Hearn and Andrei Ryabinsky for the opportunity to defend my titles in New Hampshire,” said Akhmadaliev. “I’m living and training in Indio, so I know how people love and appreciate boxing here.

“It will be my second mandatory challenger in a row, he’s a good fighter and I expect it to be a great fight for everybody to enjoy! As always, I’m working hard with my coaches Antonio and Joel Diaz, and we’ll be prepared to defend what belongs to us!”

“Who is the best to beat at my weight class? It’s MJ so I am here to challenge myself with this task and I’m confident in my ability and my team to come out victorious,” said Rios. “On November 19th you will see a new world champion added to the Golden Boy stable”

The third world title fight is pits Mexico vs. Puerto Rico and it’s the long-awaited showdown between Julio Cesar Martinez and McWilliams Arroyo.

Mexican Martinez (18-1 14 KOs) returned to action in typically entertaining fashion in June, stopping Joel Cordova in Guadalajara to successfully defend his WBC World Flyweight title for the third time. It will be third time lucky for the Arroyo clash, with Covid squashing the first attempt to pit them together in Tulsa in May 2020 and then a hand injury to Martinez ruled him out in fight week when they were due to clash on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez’s clash with Avni Yildirim in Miami in February.

Puerto Rican Arroyo (21-4 16 KOs) was able to taste action that night and picked up the Interim title at the home of the Miami Dolphins with a fifth round win over Abraham Rodriguez, and will be desperate to upgrade and rip the full title from Martinez as they finally get to tangle.

“It is great that we are finally able to get this fight,” said Martinez. “We have tried twice to do it but that’s all in the past and now we’re going to go to war on October 16.

“McWilliams is a strong challenger for the belt but I feel fantastic and I am ready to prove that I am the man to beat at Flyweight.”

“This fight has been asked for and the fans will finally get a great battle on November 19,” said Arroyo. “I hope he will come prepared because I am going to be 100 per cent ready and confident that I will be victorious.”

The fourth World title bout on the bill is the second step on the path to crowing an undisputed women’s champion at 140lbs as Kali Reis takes on Jessica Camara for the WBA, IBO and vacant WBO straps.

Two-weight champion Reis (18-7-1 5 KOs) added the IBO title to her WBA crown last time out with a majority decision win over Australian Diana Prazak, and the Rhode Island champion and former WBC Middleweight ruler will be looking to add another title through victory over Camara (8-2), the Canadian that bounced back from defeat to Melissa St Vil with a confidence boosting win over Heather Hardy in May – and the stakes couldn’t be higher with the winner set to face the victor of the with October 30 clash between WBC champion Chantelle Cameron and IBF champion Mary McGee at The O2 in London, England.

“I am in this tournament to collect all of the belts and become undisputed champion,” said Reis. “I want to thank DAZN, Lou DiBella and Eddie Hearn for this tremendous opportunity,” said Kali Reis. “Jessica is a talented fighter, but she will not deter me from achieving my goal. No one will.”

“This is going to be a fun fight for the fans and a great fight for women’s boxing,” said Camara. “Kali will be a tough opponent, but I will be ready. On November 19, I will become a world champion. Thank you to DAZN, Lou DiBella and Eddie Hearn for putting this historic tournament together to crown an undisputed super lightweight champion.”

“This is a fantastic quadruple header of World title action,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Demetrius wants to show the other champions that he is the man to beat at Middleweight, so he needs to put on a big performance against a hungry and proud Irish challenger in Jason.

“MJ is one of the best fighters in the world and he’s still in single figures as a pro, I think that we’re going to see a special performance against a tough foe in Ronny. Julio is one of the most entertaining fighters out there right now and there’s nothing less than fireworks expected as he finally gets in there with McWilliams. And finally, Kali and Jessica are one win away from the chance to fight to be the undisputed Super Lightweight champion – this is a night of action not to be missed.”

“This is a fantastic card for fans to enjoy worldwide on DAZN, and a great example of our two partners Matchroom and Golden Boy working together to put on excellent shows,” said Ed Breeze, EVP Rights at DAZN. “Jason Quigley steps up against one of the toughest challenges in the middleweight division, the flawless and reigning WBO champion, Demetrius Andrade. What a night of boxing we have on our hands, and we’re thrilled to deliver this fight to DAZN subscribers on November 19.”

“I am delighted to be able to partner up again with Matchroom to deliver the best fights for fight fans on November 19,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “Four world titles will be on the line as some of our formable, most exciting fighters take on the toughest challenges of their career to prove they are the best in their weight divisions. First, McWilliams Arroyo, will be is exercising his mandatory challenge for the WBC World Flyweight Championship against Julio Cesar Martinez.

“Next, our very own Ronny Rios, who’s been on a winning streak since 2019, challenges Murodjon Akhmadaliev for the WBA and IBF Super Bantamweight World Titles. Finally, one of my favorite Golden Boy fighters, Jason Quigley will challenge Demetrius Andrade for the WBO Middleweight Title after a stellar performance against Shane Mosley Jr in May. I am fully confident in my fighters coming out successful and am looking forward to adding three new world champions to our Golden Boy roster.”

Hiroto Kyoguchi vs Elwin Soto, Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs Ronny Rios targeted for August 28th in Los Angeles

Eddie Hearn, speaking to IFL TV, revealed that he’s putting together an August 28th card in Los Angeles that would see Hiroto Kyoguchi face Elwin Soto in a light flyweight unification match and Murodjon Akhmadaliev defend his super bantamweight titles against mandatory challenger Ronny Rios.

Filip Hrgovic, Dalton Smith, and Joe Cordina would also appear on this hypothetical card. Hrgovic is in line for an IBF final eliminator, but needs a new dance partner after Miichael Hunter bailed in favor of fighting Mike Wilson in August.

Both WBA champ Kyoguchi (15-0, 10 KO) and WBO champ Soto (19-1, 13 KO) are coming off of strong but anticlimactic performances. Kyoguchi saw a five-round slobberknocker with Axel Aragon Vega cut short by a broken hand on “El Mini’s” part, while a poorly timed stoppage ended a terrific battle between Soto and veteran Katsunari Takayama. The WBA ordered Kyoguchi to defend against “world” champ Esteban Bermudez last month, but unification takes precedence.

Matchroom won the purse bid for Akhmadaliev (9-0, 7 KO) vs. Rios (33-3. 16 KO) back in May, initially targeting August 21st. Akhmadaliev owns the IBF and WBA belts, and having beaten IBF top contender Ryosuke Iwasa in April, WBA top contender Rios is next in line. The 122-pound division is looking excellent at the moment, and hopefully this one will continue the trend.

Demetrius Andrade-Jason Quigley middleweight title fight headlines Nov. 19 tripleheader, sources say

Demetrius Andrade and Jason Quigley have agreed to terms for a middleweight title fight that will headline a DAZN-streamed championship tripleheader on Nov. 19 in New England, sources told ESPN.

Murodjon Akhmadaliev will defend his unified 122-pound championship against Ronny Rios in the co-feature, sources said. Julio Cesar Martinez puts his 112-pound title on the line vs. McWilliams Arroyo in the opening bout.

All three fights pit champions promoted by Matchroom Sport's Eddie Hearn against challengers aligned with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. The promotions have yet to lock down a site for the card, but sources said it will be held in New England.

Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs), ESPN's No. 3 boxer at 160 pounds, made the fourth defense of his title in April with a unanimous-decision victory over Liam Williams. The 33-year-old from Providence, Rhode Island, has been dominant during his 160-pound title reign but has yet to face a formidable foe. That won't change with this bout.

The slick southpaw will be a heavy favorite to turn back the challenge of Quigley (19-1, 14 KOs), a hard-nosed fighter coming off the biggest win of his career. The 30-year-old Irishman scored a majority-decision win over Shane Mosley Jr. in May and will now step up to the elite level for the first time.

The other two title bouts on the card figure to be far more competitive.

Akhmadaliev, a 26-year-old from Uzbekistan, is ESPN's No. 1 boxer at 122 pounds. He won the unified championship from Daniel Roman in January 2020 and successfully defended it in April with a stoppage win over Ryosuke Iwasa.

An Olympic bronze medalist, Akhmadaliev (9-0, 7 KOs) is considered one of the brightest young talents in boxing.

He figures to face a stern challenge in Rios (33-3, 16 KOs). The 31-year-old from Southern California is ESPN's No. 8 junior featherweight. Since suffering a sixth-round knockout to Azat Hovhannisyan in February 2018, Rios has reeled off four consecutive wins, most recently outpointing Oscar Negrete in February.

Martinez, ESPN's No. 1 flyweight, has torn through the competition at 112 pounds under the guidance of reigning trainer of the year Eddy Reynoso. The 26-year-old Mexican is coming off a sixth-round TKO of Joel Cordova, and like Akhmadaliev, Martinez (18-1, 14 KOs) is on the cusp of pound-for-pound recognition.

Arroyo (21-4, 16 KOs) is a 35-year-old from Puerto Rico who has faced some of the best fighters in the sport. Among those: decision defeats to Roman Gonzalez and Kazuto Ioka. He has won four straight since the loss to Ioka, his latest outing a TKO victory over Abraham Rodriguez in February.

The DAZN card comes one day before Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter meet for a welterweight title on ESPN+ PPV.

Press Release | Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. Jose Velasquez Set, Ronny Rios Positive For COVID

Murodjon Akhmadaliev will now defend his WBA and IBF World Super-Bantamweight titles against José Velásquez at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on Friday November 19, live worldwide on DAZN, after Ronny Rios was forced to withdraw with COVID.

Akhmadaliev (9-0 7 KOs) puts the belts on the line for the second time in New Hampshire having ripped them from former ruler Daniel Roman in Miami in January 2020 and defended them with a trademark performance of equal style and spite on home turf in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in April with a fifth round stoppage over Ryosuke Iwasa.

‘MJ’ was set to meet WBA mandatory and #1 ranked Rios, but the Californian’s misfortune opens the door for a first World title shot for Velazquez (29-6-2 19 KOs). The Chilean’s career has been on the rise since inauspicious beginnings, and the 32 year old enters the bout unbeaten in his last 21 fights and has picked up a number of regional belts in that run stretching back to 2016.

Velazquez is certain to leave it all on the line on the biggest night of his career, but with Akhmadaliev eyeing unification bouts on the road to becoming the latest undisputed champion in boxing, the 27 year old is ready to end his lengthy camp with Joel Diaz in Indio, California with another eye-catching victory.

“I hope that Ronny is feeling well, it’s a shame that he cannot face me, but it is a great chance for Jose and I am sure he will put everything into this fight,” said Akhmadaliev.

“Everything has been good in camp, it’s been a long camp with a couple of fights getting cancelled, but we’ve stayed in the gym and I’m ready to defend what is mine.

“We have a new gym, and we love it, it’s our new home. The facilities are great and there’s more room and new rings. It’s always a pleasure being in camp because Joel Diaz and the team - we’re one big family.

“We joke around and mess around, but we get great work in, we have our own language in the gym with broken English, Spanish, Uzbek and Russian, all mixed up. It’s fun but that’s because we work so hard that we make sure we enjoy ourselves when the work is done. We eat, sleep and drink boxing, the discipline is second to none.”

jose velasquez is actually a fun tough little fighter, on a good 20 fight win streak too, very low profile but a decent super short notice replacement, in fact he'd have a good shot vs rios

I like watching Martinez and MJ, and this fight is better than the first one if you ask me. Made the card better for me too. When I seen “OFF” I feared the worst.

119-109 Akhmadaliev for me as well, Velasquez had a great 7th hurt Akhmadaliev to the body and had him holding but apart from that all he had was toughness and grit, Akhmadaliev a class apart, peppered him with combinations, used the southpaw jab to set up the straight lefts to head and body, also brought the left hand around the guard, moved well for 12 rounds, as I say Velasquez a hardy bastard and when he did land you heard the thud but he was well beaten over the course

Murodjon Akhmadaliev is currently presented with the dilemma of moving forward with a new assignment or revisiting an old foe.

The unified WBA “Super”/IBF junior featherweight titlist is in the uncomfortable position of having to juggle two mandatory title defenses. Akhmadaliev was recently ordered by the WBA to revisit previous plans for a title defense versus California’s Ronny Rios (33-3, 16KOs).

“The World Boxing Association (WBA) gave a deadline of 90 days, until next April 24, to carry out the mandatory bout between the super bantamweight super champion, Murodjon Akhmadaliev, and his mandatory challenger, Ronny Rios,” Carlos Chavez, chairman of the WBA Championship Committee declared in a notice to all parties on Monday. “Akhmadaliev is the 122-[pound] world champion and will face Rios, who occupies the first position in the ranking of the pioneer organization.”

The announcement comes as Akhmadaliev’s IBF-ordered title defense versus number-one contender Marlon Tapales is currently scheduled for a January 28 purse bid hearing. The IBF summoned Akhmadaliev to begin talks earlier this month, only for the team surrounding Tapales—including the ubiquitous Sean Gibbons—requesting to forgo the free negotiation period and head straight to a purse bid.

Akhmadaliev (10-0, 7KOs) was due to face Rios last November 19 on a DAZN show from SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire. Rios was forced to withdraw after testing positive for Covid, as he was replaced by Chile’s Jose Velazquez whom Akhmadaliev outpointed in a voluntary title defense.

Rios’ status was unclear at the time, further confused by the WBA previously announcing Azat Hovhannisyan (20-3, 16KOs) as the next mandatory challenger. A ruling by the IBF came with the suggestion that they were next in the rotation since the WBA mandatory title defense was already scheduled—regardless of Rios’ medical status.

Rios will enter his second career title fight once his opportunity arises. His previous attempt resulted in a twelve-round, unanimous decision defeat to Rey Vargas in their August 2017 WBC junior featherweight title fight. He has since won five of his last six starts—the lone defeat coming in a sixth-round knockout to Hovhannisyan in March 2018. Most recently, Rios earned a ten-round shutout win over Oscar Negrete last February in Indio, California.

Philippines’ Tapales (35-3, 18KOs) awaits his first career title fight. The 29-year-old southpaw punched his way to contention following a second-round knockout of Hiroaki Teshigawara in their IBF title eliminator last December 11 in Carson, California.

A discussion between the IBF and WBA will have to sort out this mess, absent both sanctioning bodies standing firm which could result in Akhmadaliev having to vacate a belt. For now, Rios is next in line according to the WBA.

“Matchroom Boxing won the rights to organize the fight on May 24, 2021,” noted the letter. “However, the fight had to be suspended due to Covid-19 and Akhmadaliev received special permission to defend against Jose Velazquez last November.

“Once the voluntary defense was completed, the Championships Committee sent the communication form to the company in charge of organizing the fight with the established deadline to promote the [fight].”

Akhmadaliev has served as the unified titlist since a twelve-round, split decision win over Danny Roman in January 2020. The unbeaten Uzbek southpaw—a Bronze medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympics—fought in his home country for the first time as a pro, coming in his first title defense when he stopped Japan’s Ryosuke Iwasa in the fifth round of an IBF mandatory title defense last April in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Akhmadaliev-Tapales IBF Title Fight Tabled; Akhmadaliev To Next Face Ronny Rios In WBA Mandatory

The rotation has been sorted out for Murodjon Akhmadaliev’s next fight.

Boxing Scene has confirmed that Uzbekistan’s Akhmadaliev (10-0, 7KOs)—the reigning WBA “Super”/IBF junior featherweight titlist—will next face Ronny Rios in a mandatory defense of his WBA title. The ruling comes on the heels of a purse bid hearing previously scheduled Friday to determine promotional rights for his IBF mandatory defense versus Philippines’ Marlon Tapales.

Akhmadaliev was previously faced with dueling title obligations, as the WBA and IBF both enforced mandatory title defenses with weeks of one another. It has been agreed upon by both sanctioning bodies that Rios (33-3, 16KOs) is next in line, maintaining his slot after losing out on a previously scheduled fight with Akhmadaliev. Rios was due to face the unbeaten southpaw last November 19 but was forced to withdraw after testing positive for Covid a little more than a week before the DAZN event in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Akhmadaliev went on to beat late replacement Jose Velasquez by unanimous decision, only to walk into mass confusion surrounding his unified title reign.

By the time of the fight, the WBA had already declared Azat Hovhannisyan (20-3, 16KOs) as its next mandatory contender. The ruling came under the assumption that Akhmadaliev-Rios would proceed as planned, with little clarification offered until this past Tuesday, when the sanctioning body re-ordered Akhmadaliev-Rios along with a 90-day deadline for the rescheduled fight to take place.

The IBF had already ordered Akhmadaliev-Tapales by that point, even delaying a January 18 purse bid hearing to further sort out matters despite the insistence from Tapales’ team to proceed with the session.

Rios is currently riding a four-fight win streak, including a ten-round decision over Oscar Negrete last February in Indio, California. The California-based contender has won five of his last six starts since his previous title challenge, a twelve-round decision to unbeaten Rey Vargas in their August 2017 WBC junior featherweight title fight.

Interestingly, the lone loss in that period for Rios came at the hands of Hovhannisyan, who won via sixth-round knockout in their March 2018 meeting. Hovhannisyan went on to face and lose to Vargas in his own title bid, having since won six in a row including a ten-round decision over Jose Santos Gonzalez last July.

However, Rios emerged as the mandatory challenger after being owed a title shot during more confusing times when the WBA recognized multiple titlists in each weight division. He was previously ordered to face Brandon Figueroa, who went in a different direction and ultimately relinquished his secondary version of the WBA title to fight for and win the WBC belt.

By that time, Rios was advanced to challenge for the main title as the WBA ordered his fight with Akhmadaliev last April. Matchroom obtained the rights to the fight, which has since endured two delays due to both participants testing positive for Covid at separate times. The fight is now back in play, after the IBF conceded that the WBA remains first in the mandatory rotation that comes with unified titlists.

Tapales (35-3. 18KOs) will now have to wait out the winner of Akhmadaliev-Rios for his shot at the WBA/IBF junior featherweight crown. The resurgent contender from Kapatagan, Philippines—who is represented by MP Promotions, Sanman Boxing, Shapiro Sports, and Viva Promotions—has won two straight since a heartbreaking eleventh-round knockout to Ryosuke Iwasa in their December 2019 IBF title eliminator.

In his most recent start, Tapales punched his way back into contention with a second-round knockout of Hiroaki Teshigawara last December 11 in Carson, California. The fight came with the IBF’s blessing as a final eliminator, which was followed by Akhmadaliev-Tapales being ordered by the New Jersey-based sanctioning body on January 4. Tapales’ team requested an immediate purse bid hearing in lieu of a negotiation period, only to be met with a ten-day delay and now losing position in the mandatory title challenger rotation.

Akhmadaliev became a unified titlist in just his eighth pro fight, outlasting Daniel Roman to win a split decision and the WBA/IBF junior featherweight title fights in their January 2020 scorcher. The 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist made his first defense last April, stopping Iwasa in the fifth round of a homecoming fight in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Press Release

Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez will defend his WBC world super flyweight title against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai on Saturday June 25 at the Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, live worldwide on DAZN (except Uzbekistan & Thailand) and leading a stacked quadrupleheader of world title action.

Rodriguez (15-0 10 KOs) makes the first defense of the belt he won in stunning fashion in February, flooring former World ruler Carlos Cuadras en-route to becoming the youngest current World champion in just his 15th pro-outing. ‘Bam’ will get a hero’s welcome on his home turf when he steps through the ropes in San Antonio for the first time as king of the world and only the third time in his career, boxing on his doorstep in his third and fifth fights in June 2017 and March 2018 respectively.

The 22 year old could hardly face a stiffer test when putting his belt on the line for the first time, coming up against former two-time Super-Fly kingpin Rungvisai (50-5-1 43 KOs). The Thai star was set to face Cuadras in a long-awaited rematch for the title in San Diego, only for Rungvisai to fall ill and be replaced at late notice by the new young champion. The 35 year old has a chance to get his hands on the coveted green and gold strap for a third time, having first held the belt in 2013 and then reclaiming it against Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez three years later.

“Fighting a guy like Rungvisai is going to bring me to a whole new level,” said Rodriguez. “He's a great fighter but this is my time now. You have to take risks in this sport, that's what special fighters do. They said it was a risk me challenging for a World title fight on short notice and now they say it's a risk taking on a fighter like Rungvisai but this is what I want. These are the types of fights you need so you can be remembered by the fans long after your career is done.

“I've always said that me and my brother are going to bring the big fights back to San Antonio and this is just the start of it. We are so proud to be from this city and we get that love back from the people there so this will be a special night.”

“Jesse might be the youngest current World champion, but this is a fight where he can prove he already belongs with the very best in boxing,” said trainer Robert Garcia. “We have a lot of respect for Rungvisai, we know what he is capable of, and he is a great, great fighter but I also know what Jesse is capable. I have so much belief in him, and I know he is ready for this.”

“I am very excited for this opportunity to fight for the WBC World title,” said Rungvisai. “I will be at my best to win the WBC World title and become the first three times WBC World champion in the history of Thailand. Thank you so much to Matchroom, DAZN, and the WBC for this opportunity.”

Rodriguez and Rungvisai lead a stellar night of action with three more world title fights on the bill, with Julio Cesar Martinez and McWilliams Arroyo picking up where they left off from their curtailed firefight for Martinez’s WBC world flyweight title, where both men hit the canvas in the opening round and Arroyo touched down again in the second, before the action in New Hampshire in November had to be halted after Arroyo suffered a nasty cut from an accidental head clash.

Arroyo (21-4 16 KOs) has been out of action since that night, while Martinez (18-2 14 KOs) bravely rolled the dice to take on modern great Chocolatito as the headline act on the night Rodriguez won his belt.

World title clash number three on the bumper card will see IBF and WBA world super bantamweight champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev defend his titles against Ronny Rios. The pair were set to meet in New Hampshire in November, but COVID ruled Rios out and he was replaced by game late challenger Jose Velasquez. Akhmadaliev (10-0 7 KOs) retained his belts with a near-shutout on the cards, going the distance for just the third time in his 10th pro bout, and second as a world champion. Rios (33-3 16 KOs), the mandatory challenger for the WBA crown, goes for glory for the second time in his 36-fight career after challenging Rey Vargas for the WBC strap at 122lbs in August 2016.

The fourth bout on the card has the most belts on the line, as undisputed welterweight ruler Jessica McCaskill makes the third defense of all her marbles at 147lbs. McCaskill (11-2 4 KOs) ripped the straps from long-standing ruler Cecilia Braekhus on the streets of Downtown Tulsa in August 2020 and saw off the Norwegian in a rematch for her first defense in March 2021. The Chicagoan recorded the fourth stoppage win of her career in the second defense of the belts in December, ending Kandi Wyatt’s challenge in the seventh, and will face an opponent to be named soon in San Antonio.

“Everyone is coming for the throne and it’s my job to protect it,” said McCaskill.

“This is a good fight. This fight will confirm why Jessica is the queen of the Welterweight division,” added McCaskill’s trainer and manager Rick Ramos.

“I’ve won fights, I’ve lost fights, I’ve been in the big stage, I’ve fought for a world title, I’m a single mom, I’ve been kidnapped, there’s not one thing that she can bring to the fight that I haven’t seen and surpassed,” said Ibarra. “She’s just holding what’s mine, I’m here to take them!!”

Right.

We need to see MJ vs. Fulton.

DAZN vs. PBC/Showtime make it difficult.

Fulton says MJ is an easy win for him.

That just tells me he ain’t fighting him.

2 belts vs. 2 belts.

Come on!!! :box:

i'd rather see inoue vs murod than fulton vs murod tbh........................fulton's really good but he can be a bit of a stinky non puncher. inoue-murod would have some serious leather being thrown

both cases have rival promoters though......and not sure if inoue plans to move up again

Fulton, MJ, inoue, Estrada, choc, Bam, Garry ant Russle, I wanna see em all mixing it up. i know theres a stretch of weights, but there classes are really small, if you wanna be great in the lil leauges i think you have to be willing to move classes (when possible) for big names.

probably wont get the 115s vs the 122s, but if some of the 122s can make 118 they should be calling to meet 118s and 115s there.

I honestly think they need to redo the little guy weights to minimise the problem. 112, 115, 118 is crazy and kills those weight classes depth...
-light welter->welter is a 5% increse in weight. This feels about right to me.
-light heavy->cruiser is a 14% increase in weight. This is too much.
-super fly to bantum is a 2.5% increase in weight. this is clearly not enough.

Yep take a laxative before the weigh in and you can make another weight class.
Amazing that we don't see enough of those champs that can float weights easily fight each other
