Demetrius Andrade has rejected guaranteed opportunities to fight Jermell Charlo, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Matt Korobov and the winner of the Lara-Hurd title unification bout.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Jan 2022, 11:17Give him some credit, he remained inactive for a year, was then scheduled to fight BJS (regardless of whether he was ready of not), BJS sneezed hot, and then Hearn made the Walter fight?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑28 Jan 2022, 10:34Andrade rejected the Sergiy Derevyanchenko fight, remained inactive for a year and then fought Walter Kautondokwa.

And we're both aware of Andrade's imminent plans to duck Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.
For sure, Andrade eventually agreed to fight Billy Joe Saunders (shortly after admitting he wasn't ready to face him), with the Brit forced to withdraw, but that doesn't negate the fact that Demetrius is in the process of needlessly vacating a third world title and is about to duck his fifth top-ten world-rated opponent.
You’re a knowledgeable guy, but I’m sure that even you can’t name another current world champion who’s own team have conceded to ducking five or more top-ten world-rated opponents?

Mell Charlo - 2014, (8 yrs ago) offered $250K plus short notice, poor management decisions, but Andrade agreed a month later, Mell rejected and fought Vanes M.
Derevyanchenko - Same trainer as Andrade that won't allow the fight.
Korobov - Was at a higher weight at the time.
Lara - Actually rejected Andrade and chose to fight Hurd, who he lost to. Facts

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly - WBO Purse Bids
Wrong!
Demetrius Andrade's legal documentation he filed against Roc Nation confirmed his purse was actually $550K and his team admitted they weren't being low-balled.
Wrong!
Both teams agreed terms. Andrade wouldn't sign the contract, because he wanted more time to prepare.
Wrong!
Demetrius Andrade lobbied the WBO to challenge for their vacant world middleweight title, but changed his mind after being informed he'd be facing Matt Korobov.
Wrong!
According to the WBA's rules, Andrade was in line to face the winner of the Hurd-Lara bout, but he preferred to vacate his WBA regular strap, to engage in a non-title bout at 160lbs against Alantez Fox instead.

So Andrade wants to fight a good name which I understand but he would like to fight Parker-who? Ok, lets say Andrade gets that wbo smw title, then what ? Canelo would probably vacate that title.
Hearn should try to make Andrade vs Benavidez!
Anyway maybe Andrade would fight Janibek, which would be his best opponent at 160.

Yeah, I'd love to see that.
Unfortunately though, Andrade stated last month that he wouldn't consider fighting Benavidez unless he's a world titleholder.

Canelo would probably vacate all his belts at smw and Benavidez would get that wbc title and Andrade the wbo title. The question is if these two guys will try to unify each other ?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑28 Jan 2022, 13:02Yeah, I'd love to see that.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly - WBO Purse Bids
Benevidez is a great fighter, and so is Plant. Andrade vs either are probably 50-50 fights, and probably 5X more money than what he was getting at 160.
Why wouldn't he try to unify? He was turned down by Canelo, GGG, and Charlo to unify at 160. All very, very, tough fights. People that say hes running away up to 168 to avoid (another) no-name for peanuts are delusional.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly - WBO Ordered
Andrade-Alimkhanuly WBO Title Bout To Be Ordered, Must Take Place By November 17
The next fight for Janibek Alimkhanuly will either be a first shot at the full WBO middleweight title or his first official defense of the belt.
A destructive second-round knockout of England’s Danny Dignum saw Kazakhstan’s Alimkhanuly emerge as the interim WBO middleweight titlist this past Saturday at Resorts World Las Vegas. Days before the fight, both fighters were notified by the WBO to confirm that the winner would be next in line for full WBO titlist Demetrius Andrade (31-0, 19KOs), who previously sought an interim super middleweight title but is now on the hook for a mandatory defense which must take place no later than November 17, or 180 days from last Saturday’s Alimkhanuly-Dignum clash.
“[T]he WBO Middleweight Champion has up to 180-days after the [J]anibek/Dignum bout to be medically and physically ready, willing, and able to fight the winner of the [J]anibek/Dignum bout,” Luis Batista-Salas, chairman of the WBO Championship Committee noted in an official letter to Top Rank, Matchroom Boxing and the management teams for Andrade, Alimkhanuly and Dignum, a copy of which was obtained by BS.com.
The title consolidation fight is expected to be ordered 60 days after Alimkhanuly-Dignum, which places the call on or around July 20. From there, Andrade and Alimkhanuly (12-0, 8KOs) will have 30 days to work out terms before a purse bid hearing is ordered to determine promotional rights.
The two sides have already been down this road.
The fight was formally ordered last November 30, less than two weeks after both fighters posted knockout wins one night apart. Andrade stopped Ireland’s Jason Quigley in the second round of a November 19 DAZN headliner in Manchester, New Hampshire, registering his fifth title defense. Alimkhanuly stopped former secondary WBA middleweight Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam in the eighth round of an ESPN Pay-Per-View undercard bout from Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas last November 20, with manager Egis Klimas immediately calling for a title fight.
Negotiations went nowhere, with Andrade and Matchroom spending more time trying to secure an interim super middleweight title fight with England’s Zach Parker (22-0, 16KOs) than working out terms with Alimkhanuly. A purse bid hearing to determine promotional rights was postponed four times and canceled outright once the WBO agreed to sanction interim title fights at super middleweight and middleweight.
Andrade-Parker was approved but with the two sides unable to reach an agreement. The fight went to purse bid which was won by Queensberry Promotions, Parker’s promoter who sought to stage the event at Pride Park in Parker’s hometown of Derby, England.
Andrade was forced to withdraw from the event due to a shoulder injury requiring surgery. Proof of injury was submitted to the WBO, who was informed that the unbeaten southpaw will be out of the ring until at least September. The rehabilitation period likely ruins any chance of rescheduling a Parker fight, at least not without having to abandon his middleweight title reign outright.
“f the WBO Middleweight Champion is not medically and physically ready, willing, and able to fight within the term provided herein, the WBO Middleweight Championship will be declared “Vacant” “Ipso Facto,” noted Batista-Salas. “The WBO World Championship Committee shall recommend to the WBO Ratings Committee that the WBO Middleweight Participant be rated at the number one (1) position in the Middleweight Ratings. Consequently, the WBO Interim Middleweight Champion will automatically be elevated to “Full Champion” status.”
Andrade has held the WBO title since a points win over Walter Kautondokwa in their October 2018 vacant title fight in Boston. Kautondokwa was a late replacement for then-unbeaten WBO middleweight titlist Billy Joe Saunders, who was forced to give up the belt after testing positive for Oxilofrine during random pre-fight drug testing, leading the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission to deny Saunders a license thus leaving him unable to honor his mandatory title defense.
In the event Alimkhanuly is advanced to full WBO titlist, a decision will then be made whether he is afforded an optional defense or if the unbeaten Kazakh fighter will have to face the next highest ranked available contender.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly - WBO Ordered
Demetrius Andrade recently withdrew from his 168lbs bout against the UK domestic level Zach Parker, due to a shoulder injury that’ll force him to remain inactive until late September.
And by the date of the WBO’s November 17th deadline, Boo Boo would have been competing as a 160lb-er for more than 5½ years.
Here’s a list of all the middleweight opposition he’s fought during those 5½ years:
• Jason Quigley
• Luke Keeler
• Maciej Sulecki
• Artur Akavov
• Walter Kautondokwa
• Alantez Fox
Any based on the same date of the WBO’s newly-imposed deadline for the Alimkhanuly fight, Demetrius Andrade would have held their middleweight title for more than four years, but has only managed to perform one mandatory defence (against Liam Williams nineteen months prior).
Eddie Hearn recently stated that Matchroom and Demetrius Andrade will (or have) be parting ways, with Boo Boo having already ducked Zhanibek Alimkhanuly three months ago.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly - WBO Ordered
This is so stupid, and a waste of time. Andrade already signed for a fight at 168 that will take place in the fall.
It was the right move. Defended his belt 5-6 times, no chance to fight Charlo, GGG, Munguia, or Canelo, and BJS pissed hot.
Janibek fight would be tough, but no money in it.
Why waste time? Strip Andrade and open up the belt immediately, or tell him to vacate. They've already been through this.

Fine. I still say strip Andrade or force him to vacate. Champs holding belts hostage has to stop.
Line up Mall Charlo or even Mell since he's talking about moving up, or just award Janibek the belt and go from there. Mall vs Sulicki is a crap fight. Him vs Janibek would be good.

As a fan I would love to see it. Be a great fight. David Morell is also willing. Maybe Benevidez vs Morell next? I think both Andrade and Benevidez would fight if they were assured of the Canelo lottery after.
