did warren ask woods to sign a contract with him, for him to promote woods after Woods-Johnson III?

One would assume so, he probably figured there was a chance that Clint would think that it was a good idea as he was getting what is presumably a nice fat payday from Warren for this show.

I also think that the only way Woods v Calzaghe will happen is if Warren has a vested interest in Clinton's career, or if it is going to definetly be Calzaghe's last fight. Perhaps he's trying to tie up the loose ends and get Clinton signed and make the fight.

Be a cracking domestic/world title fight in my opinion, not sure who I think will win, which is what it's all about.

let's say Woods declines. & let's say Johnson & Warrior's agree to go along with Warren to a potential clash with Calzaghe. The guy who writes for Warren's site already said that 'Johnson will be the house fighter'.

does that mean if it's halfway close, Glen gets the benefit of the doubt? Winky was asked (allegedly) by allegedly to renew his contract with Warren. This was before Winky-Simon. The fight was declared a draw. Then the scores were 'changed', making Simon the winner...

so does anyone think Woods can win a decision?

i wonde if woods would go with warren. hobson seems too focused on hatton's american career. warren says hobson put in a pitifully low bid to stage woods-johnson iii

but the again hobson stuck it with woods and really got him opportunities with the ibf

dilemma maybe

He has looked a lot better since the two Johnson fights. Hopefully he'll win this one.

physically, woods has a lot more now. you could just tell from about 10 seconds into the hoye fight. i thought maybe it was good lighting or something, but when he started outclass hoye you coud see he was sharp, strong & able to pull the trigger.

this Woods-Johnson III seems dodgy. Warren won the purse bid. But a share of the money comes from Warrior's Boxing, Johnson's Florida promoters. The intention is clear: Johnson wins. Calzaghe moves up, & faces Johnson.

Aint no chance Clinton moves away from Hobson, you kinda get the feeling Clinton & Hobson are good mates & i dont think Clinton would stab Hobson in the back after all Hobson has done for Woods.

Yes he said he went all scientific after the Johnson fights. To be fair when I saw after his last fight he looked very healthy and in good shape. It made me feel woefully out of shape and I've barely got an ounce on me.

He puts on 17lbs now after the weigh in, thats allot - would it zap him in a hard fight I wonder?

I think Clinton should go with Warren, he'd get a decision if its close and he'd set up a fight with Calazage. Lets face it thats the biggest fight out there for him.

no doubt clinton will have been given a chance to sign with warren. if he says no i reckon it diminishes his chance of getting a decision win. Winky accused Warren of similar - he said he declined to continue fighting for Warren when asked to sign another contract, RIGHT BEFORE fighting Simon. As i said elsewhere, as we all know anyway, the fight was a 'draw' then 'changed' to a Simon victory. Makes you wonder...

warren's site has already said "Johnson is the house fighter" on account of Warrior's apparently aiding Warren in winning the purse bid. Ominous.

IMO Warren would rather Johnson emerge with the IBF light heavy crown at any rate - for calzaghe. Johnson is pushing 40 & may have big problems with Calzaghe's speed. Whereas Woods his the imposing size & reach, and -above all - he has the quality right hand to give Joe fits, maybe even break him down with it. As Calzaghe is open to the right hand.

If Johnson gets a decision, call in Oliver Stone to make a sensationalist, star studded movie on the subject: "Fran.k Warren: Allegedly"

They ARE good mates and were before Clinton laced up the gloves. In fact, the story goes both Hobson and Woods went down the gym together yonks ago and Woods discovered he had an aptitude for the sport.

Calzahge wants that IBF title and it's so much easier - from a stylistic and promotional standpoint - if Glen wins.

I think that's an atrocious scenario: Woods getting the shaft on his home turf.
