Mark Potter

Post by Old bones Ian »

He's just posted on social media that he's in hospital after having a tumor removed from his vertebrae, still awaiting the outcome of the tests on it.

All the best, Mark! Can't remember if it was here or ESB he used to post on way back when. He's a good bloke. Coincidentally my pal has a similar thing, in his case the tumor is benign and they don't seem in any mega rush to get the op done because it's such a tricky/risky op and it's barely growing. Unfortunately Mark's sounds like a far more aggressive case. Cancer is shit.

Yes, he’s a hard man. He was good at British level mma also. A bit too brutal.

Jeez, that's grim, all the best to the Shark.

Used to train at the same gym as him in North London. Always friendly but i wouldn't want to take a right-hand from him, he was a proper unit.

Fingers crossed for him and hope he makes a good recovery. :salut:

Good luck and hope he beats this latest opponent, a really good fighter back in the day, one of my favourite domestic heavyweights and very unlucky not to be British champion.

Mark was a really good fighter and I always enjoyed his fights. His first-round dismissal of Butterbean in an unlicenced showdown must rank as the longest three minutes in boxing history. Mark outboxed, outpunched and outclassed Butterbean in that round. Best wishes, Mark.
