Jono Carroll will face Serif Gurdijeljac in the co-main event on the opening night of Probellum Evolution in Dubai next month. Probellum’s first shows of 2022 take place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium over consecutive nights, on March 18 and 19.

The first night will be headlined by French fighter Estelle Mossely’s IBO world lightweight title match against Argentina’s Yanina del Carmen Lescano, and Carroll’s opponent for the supporting bout has now been confirmed, with Carroll (21-2-1, 6 KOs) set to face Gurdijeljac (21-6, 8 KOs).

Ireland's Jono Carroll (21-2-1, 6 KOs) will face Serbia's Serif Gurdijeljac (21-6, 8 KOs) in the March 18th co-feature in Dubai next month. Probellum’s first shows of 2022 take place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium over consecutive nights, on March 18th and 19th, featuring world title fights and some of the most talented boxers from across the globe. Also added to the show is a WBC 130-pound eliminator between O'Shaquie Foster and Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov.

Carroll goes into the bout off the back of three consecutive victories, the most recent of which came at Probellum’s inaugural show at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena last December, when he defeated Brazilian Aelio Mesquita courtesy of a knockout.

Gurdijeljac, who turned professional in 2013 will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering defeat in his last bout, against Frenchman Samir Ziani.

Slick British super bantamweight Shabaz Masoud (10-0) will face French opposition when he makes his Probellum debut next month against the seasoned Yoann Boyeux (43-6). The bout will be scheduled for ten rounds as part of Probellum Evolution in Dubai on Friday, March 18th. The 25 year-old Masoud – nicknamed ‘Maverick’ – is set on making a statement against a fighter who was stopped by current two-belt bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue in 2017.

The Stoke-on-Trent born switch-hitter signed with Probellum, a global promotion and media company, earlier this month and is ready to show a worldwide audience that the hype around him is real. “I can’t wait to make my debut for Probellum in Dubai next month,” buzzed Masoud. “My opponent boxed Naoya Inoue back in 2017 and was stopped in three rounds. I’d love to do it quicker than Inoue but, either way, I am definitely going to put on a dazzling display of my skills in Dubai.”

Probellum has announced broadcast deals with fuboTV and ESPN KO to screen its back-to-back world title shows from Dubai to fans across North and South America.

fuboTV, the sports-first live TV streaming platform will broadcast the Dubai cards in the US and Canada on Fubo Sports Network, while ESPN KO will bring the action to its audience in Latin America.

Probellum Evolution takes place on consecutive nights on March 18 and 19 with US-fan favorite, New Orleans’ Regis Prograis’ facing Tyrone McKenna of Ireland in a final eliminator for the WBC title on the second evening of boxing.

On the opening night in Dubai, Estelle Mossely of France will make history as the first female to headline a world title fight in the Middle East by defending her lightweight belt against Argentina’s Yanina del Carmen Lescano.

The show also sees Houston super-featherweight O’Shaquie Foster face Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov of Tajikistan in a crunch WBC semi-final eliminator, while Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov who defeated the USA’s Richard Torrez in the Olympic super heavyweight final last summer is also one-to-watch.

Undercard Weigh-In Results

Estelle Yoka-Mossely is ready to return to the ring after a year-long break and in a history-making bout.

The 2016 Olympic Gold medalist from Bagnolet, France attempts the third defense of her IBO lightweight belt versus Argentina’s Yanina del Carmen Lescano. Both boxers made weight for their scheduled 10-round bout Friday evening at Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The IBO belt at stake officially marks the first-ever female title fight to headline a boxing event in Dubai.

Yoka-Mossely (9-0, 1KO)—whose husband Tony Yoka is also a 2016 Olympic Gold medalist and now a current heavyweight contender—weighed 134 ½ pounds for her first fight since last March. Lescano (10-1, 2KOs) also weighed 134 ½ pounds for her first career title fight. Yoka-Mossely and Lescano both fight outside of their respective home countries for the first time in the pros.

Also of note on the first of back-to-back Probellum shows in Dubai, O’Shaquie Foster and Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov collide in a scheduled 12-round WBC junior lightweight title eliminator.

Houston’s Foster (18-2, 11KOs) weighed 129.8 pounds as he aims to extend his current eight fight win streak. Yaqubov (18-0, 10KOs)—a Tajikistani southpaw who lives and has previously fought exclusively in Russia—checked in at 129.6 pounds.

The show also features Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov (9-0, 9KOs), a two-time Olympian who captured a Gold medal as a super heavyweight in last summer’s Tokyo Olympics. Jalolov weighed 255 pounds for his scheduled eight-round bout versus grossly overmatched Polish heavyweight Kamil Sokolowski (11-25-2, 4KOs), who weighed 242 pounds.

He’ll be competitive with guys that aren’t destined for being competitive in British title fights but will lose to anyone worse than that. Jalolov is a hell of a lot better than that and it’s his 10th fight. Mark Bennett beat him in his third fight!
