Akinwande-v-Platov

Post by jomothepure »

Intriguing one this. September 23rd, on a quite interesting card being put on by Sauerland. Platov has good speed and power. However, the opposition thus far has been poor, and I say it isn't impossible for ol' Henry to get a genuine decision. Any thoughts?

Quite suprised at this one, I really thought although he hold an intercontinental title that Akinwande was in semi retirement.

I was impressed with Platov vs Kenna, but he still has alot of questions that need to be answered. If it is still fairly competitive by the half way stage I would expect Platov to score the KO late. Akinwande fades worryingly when in a fight.

Having said that I'm not sure what Platov's chin and stamina is like.

What exactly is The Octopus doing? Whats his plan? Is he going to come to the states for one last shot..? He is an ex-DK affiliate might be able to get back in there... Or he could come back to the UK & call out A-farce or Skelton..?

Or is he just boxing some low threat fights for the German audiences (hear you get paid well over there) & building up a retirement nest egg is the extent of his ambition...?

If is hoping to do something big hes moving nowhere very, very slowly.

I think id quite enjoy a 41 yr old Octopus exposing Audleys lack of skills for 6 or 7 rds before he knocks A-Farce out cold.
