People pick him to win all these fights but still say he is British level and never give him any credit.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:11yep, and hardly anyone said he had 'no chance' if he tried to boxemallini wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:07Can you read? I said people said he would lose if he tried to box with Williams. Everyone said he needs to be aggressive and pressure Williams. He did the opposite and still won.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:01
no chance? dude was the favourite, as he has been pretty much every fight in his career, including groves. i think saunders was the only one he wasnt (and he lost)
you did the whole people write off jr thingy before, but they really dont. hes got plenty of credit for his ability and if anything that's why ppl get upset when he coasts -- because he has it in him to do more
ppl just so unfair to eubank aren't they, picking him to win pretty much all his fights, even making him the fave over groves, he just gets no respect for his abilities boo hoo![]()

ya, they pick him to win them all, and even some of the ones he lost.
what's the big result that most people got wrong?
of course some underrate him too, every big name fighter has dudes like that

Na Eubank gets it bad. The guy has obvious flaws but he is a serious contender. Probably his personality that rubs people wrong way.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:24 ya, they pick him to win them all, and even some of the ones he lost.

first couple of rounds I thought I was watching RJJ, but he just started blowing and dicking around. Jones could fight the way he did becuase he was an amazing athlete, would have been a star in any sport he had chosen.
Re: Round-by-Round: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams - 5 February 2022
He IS British level. He definitely isn't above British level. Groves and BJS are both British fighters so it's pretty well proven. I could even see Fowler out boxing him.emallini wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:21People pick him to win all these fights but still say he is British level and never give him any credit.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 20:11yep, and hardly anyone said he had 'no chance' if he tried to box

Anybody think Jr’s body shape has changed.
He looks less ‘strong’. More lithe.

Re: Round-by-Round: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams - 5 February 2022
It’s a very subjective thing defining levels isn’t it. When Groves fought Jr and beat him pretty handily was Groves really elite world class then ? Hadn’t he slipped quite a way from his peak ? And when BJS fought Jr and outclassed him til he ran out of steam was BJS really world class then ?
So if Jr suffers clear losses to two guys who weren’t at that point in their careers world class can you not make an argument that Jr is and was Euro level at best ?
Re: Round-by-Round: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams - 5 February 2022
What is elite world class? Also, the chap said he is British level not Euro level.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 21:03It’s a very subjective thing defining levels isn’t it. If Joe Joyce gets beat by Fury and AJ does that mean he is British level?KiwiRider wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 21:41If he has been well beaten by two of the top (Smith beat Groves) British guys, then isn't he British level?
Williams is the only guy he has beaten in the world top 20 on boxrec.

current euro middleweight champ is 42 year old italian matteo sigani https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/389445
eubank would surely beat him. eubank for several years has been a lower top 10 type of guy. good fighter who'll beat guys like williams, but not guys like groves and bjs. andrade, charlo, etc beat him too. but he can beat williams and guys like sulecki, derevchenko, etc

Even fornicating Liam Williams is above British level. The Eubank hate is hilarious!

Re: Round-by-Round: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams - 5 February 2022
I suppose it depends how you define the term british level. For me it means British title level so does Jr beat Cash or Bentley, clearly he beats them easily so he’s above British level. Now I don’t know enough about Euro level fighters to say he’s better than Euro level but a cursory look at the boxrec Euro ratings where Williams is 3, Eggington (who I thought was a light mid) is 6 and Cash is 7 suggests that maybe he’s comfortably above Euro level.KiwiRider wrote: ↑05 Feb 2022, 21:41If he has been well beaten by two of the top (Smith beat Groves) British guys, then isn't he British level?
Williams is the only guy he has beaten in the world top 20 on boxrec.
But then again Jr is No.1 in the boxrec world ratings above Charlo and Andrade and Munguia and GGG isn’t even mentioned so maybe the ratings are bollocks
It’s all a bit of a muddle
Re: Round-by-Round: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Liam Williams - 5 February 2022
Eubank is a world level top 10 contender. He is not great or elite. But he is much better than British level. The fact people even say that, shows that he is hated for other reasons.
