Devin Haney agrees to fight George Kambosos

Devin Haney has agreed to fight George Kambosos next and has urged his lightweight rival to accept the fight. The Australian fighter became an in-demand boxer at the backend of last year when he caused a sensational shock to defeat Teofimo Lopez to become the number one fighter at 135lbs.

With the lightweight division stacked with a number of outstanding contenders, Kambosos has a huge target on his back with several names calling him out. Haney and Vasiliy Lomachenko have been the loudest, and the Las Vegas based WBC champion has called on his fellow beltholder to face him in an attempt to unify the entire division.

“Right now, it's on George and his team to determine what's next,” said Haney when speaking to Chris Mannix on DAZN. "At the end of the day, I agreed to all of their terms, whether it was the travel or the vaccine. So, anything that they throw at me, I'm ready to do it.

“This is a dream of mine to become undisputed champion. They can say what they want, and I price myself out, and did this and that, but that's not the truth. I'm ready to make the people happy and ready to do it next.”

A one of the best matchups today, absolutely unpredictable. Two good young fighters, who hasn't shown yet everything they got. Such bouts allow them to do it. Haney is a good textbook boxer, but so far only his big lips has been looking special. I'd pick Kambo to win because of his counter-punching abilities.

Haney and Ryan Garcia are the easiest to beat for Kambossos, I have him beating Haney easy and Garcia with a punchers chance,

Lomachenko beats Kambossos.

Haney has looked much better than Garcia so far. While Lomachenko is indeed better than any of them.

It's gonna be King George vs Loma, I think it could be interesting if it's down under as well. If he fights Haney I really do fancy GK, such an interesting triangle of fighters, he, Loma and Lopez

If Kambosis fights Loma, he will lose, along with his 3 belts.
If he fights Haney, he has a decent chance, along with gaining the 4th belt to be truly undisputed.
Same money - Should be a no brainer.

i guess kambo cares more about fighting bigger fights. choosing the smaller name because he has a better chance of winning? jeez, that's just lame

if haney really wanted kambo he'd offer himself for less than loma (a bigger name) is. if he aint doing that, looks like he doesnt want the fight.

seems like it might be too late for him this time around

Honestly I agree that Haney should take less, and get off his high horse money-wise. He thinks him having a belt and Loma not having one is worth more than it actually is. At his young age, he should take a low offer, because if he wins, he becomes a big name and the money will follow.

With everything that’s happening.

I think this is the fight to make.

Hearn should be able to get this bout done.

Have it in Aus.

We can finally have the ‘undisputed’ champion bla bla.

Without Loma, there’s no other credibly available opponent that Haney.

I see your point.

But these guys need to stay active.

Kam wont want a crappy voluntary/mandatory.

He has the belts, he’s gonna want the money fights now when he can.

He CAN beat Haney. He should have all the confidence as well.

yeah, if that is accepted wisdom, it isn't wisdom that is seemingly accepted by the majority of fighters ? The need to be active, I mean. Albeit that would get in the way of them loading themselves with like the steroids they developed to treat elephants in zoos and stuff

At least Kambosis has a chance to win now. He had a very slim chance vs Loma.
