my scorecard after 9 rounds read 4 rounds to 4 with 1 even.

It was all in Schmeling's control up until the 10th and final round, when Baer uploaded a huge assault of rights, lefts and back-handed slaps to "The Black Uhlan", was so brutal that the referee had to stop the bout.
