These two bouts are missing:

"Joe" Gans, the colored light-weight champion, defeated two men in the ring at Kernan's Monumental Theater last night. The first was James Davis, colored, whom Gans made a punching-bag of, and stopped in three rounds. "Johnny" Ball then volunteered to box the six remaining rounds, and was clearly outpointed by Gans.

James Davis, a colored aspirant for pugilistic honors, met Joseph Gans, the colored light-weight, in the Monumental ring last night. Gans toyed with Davis for three rounds and showed James that fighting was a game at which only one could play sometimes. So Davis was ordered out of the ring.
John Ball, the clever feather-weight from Newark, N. J., then went into the ring, and he and Gans sparred six clever rounds. They illustrated the manly art beautifully, there being no question that Gans, who was the larger, was the superior as a fighter. As it was they were equally scientific, and Ball by his shifty movements added to the interest of the match.
