You don't understand how PBC Haymon work. Ruiz and wilder are Haymon's two heavyweight division chess pieces. He will not match them and have the one who loses lose value. Haymon is in protective mode for both, waiting for an opportunity (Ruiz has been promised a third AJ fight, Wilder's last payday is a shot at AJ or Usyk). wilder and ruiz will never, just as spence and thurman were both protected from each other to maintain each's value. Someone like Helenius followed by Ruiz would be the best we can realistically hope for even if it would be unlikely. If he was to win both of them then he can realistically face one of the losers of Fury/Whyte/AJ/Usyk for big money.

I can easily see that situation playing out precisely as you described.

But I do feel the Ruiz Jr. fight could be a huge banana skin for him though.

If the American fails to land his one-hitter-quitter early, I can see Andy stopping a fatigued Wilder during the second half of their bout (assuming it eventually happens).
