Have I missed something but has AJ signed for Dazn. It sounded very much like it was all confirmed with Eddie's media rounds with the youtubers, but I've not seen it on here

He as in Aj? or Eddie? Strange cos Eddie was saying yesterday that AJ vs Usyk being on PPV would be a decision by Dazn and said thats why they are getting a PPV model....he said 3 or 4 times it was a Dazn decision

Hearn in his latest round of interviews today. Dazn are in the running, but he did say sky are the front runners.

I would think Dazn are expecting Hearn to get Joshua on their platform and I think that is where he will end up.

Definately sounds like it will be Dazn for AJ judging by the latest Smith IFL interview - no "look forward to working with him again" - sounded in the dark as anything and Eddie being interviewed by Costello talked about Canelo and AJ being good for Matchroom and Dazn.

Smith though especially seemed as "vague" about AJ as he was about Whyte and Fury - class interview from him though - no Bitterness, think Mr Hearn could learn a bit from him.

Fact is - Williams vs Eubank, Khan vs Brook and Taylor vs Caterall smash any British main event since AJ vs Usyk - best 4 main events on domestic soil in the last year have been on Sky. Eddie had a nerve to say "Sky are pushing it more than they ever did for me" - god those Sky EH PPV nights were pushed far harder than even Khan vs Brook and even Browne vs Whyte (normal Sky) had gloves are off, weigh ins etc.

I agree with you re: Smith’s humility and that Eddie could learn about it. I don’t like Smith as a commentator although I don’t hate him as much as most but I actually think he’s good for boxing and his heart’s in the right place.

I do agree with Eddie though re: how much Sky are pushing boxing now. They’re making most of their shows more widely available to non-Sky customers (like they did with Williams/Eubank) and they’re pushing far more on social than they ever have before - particularly on Facebook/YouTube. The SkySports landing page today had 3 of the main 4 articles about boxing (one being Natasha Jonas related) which I don’t remember seeing 3 days out before a PPV before.

Eddie has got to be careful that the amount of social media he does - doesn't bite him on the arse, particularly as he sometimes is coming across a little bitter these days. For example not long ago he described both Khan and Brook as "finished" - yet he will be taken to town on that quote if he brings up Connor Benn against the winner again.

I will agree to disagree on the boxing content - there was loads of stuff on Sky Sports Mix (available to non sky cusomers) - loads of FIghts nights shown there in the matchroom days. The fight camp was all the time of Sky - daily . I don't go on the Sky website to know about that. Obviously one of the advantage of this show compared to other recent EH PPVs is that both fighters can speak English - so a gloves are off with Povetkin vs Whyte couldn't be done. But I remember the build up to Joshua vs Klitchscko, Joshua vs Whyte and Haye vs Bellew - it was daily updates and multiple documentaries of also the undercard. Groves vs Froch 2 was another.

We aren't getting the Khan / Brook fights shown on Sky as a warm up.

As good a fight Khan/Brook is and I do think it will deliver entertainment wise, it's a clear cash out for both men, Khan never wanted this fight, I blame him mainly, it was clear Brook was desperate for the chance to get in the ring with him and now Khan has no real other avenues that pay like this apart from a younger fresher Conor Benn, he feels Brook is ripe for the picking


It's a Poundland Mayweather/Pacquiao but a better spectacle, Brook knocks out Khan before the halfway point imo
