DAZN - What the hell

I opened my DAZN subscription account from my home in North Cyprus (which I guess the platform recognises as Turkey)

All was good for 2 months and then DAZN decided that their platform was not available in my country of residence so therefore I have no access.

Because of this fact, the last time I was in UK i tried to log onto DAZN to cancel my subscription, and it wont let me cancel the subscription in any country apart from the one where i opened the account.

Therefore I have no access to DAZN and no ability to cancel DAZN. F*****g great!!

Thank you very much DAZN, what a great service. Mr Eddie Hearn, If you read this then DM me and sort this please, its ridiculous.

Phone your bank if you've used your debit card, or credit card provider if you have used one of them. They'll sort it.

What a tease showing all these fight cards that Americans and English subscribers can watch, and yet down under we barely get one show a month, and not the best show all the time either.

They announced their own studios a few weeks back and have long term commitments to big sports across the world. They’re not going anywhere for a few years at least. They’re just a lot further away than they’d have liked in the U.K./US as they haven’t been able to secure much in the way of key sports.

They’ll look to keep expanding worldwide, will continue to make big losses and will then do an IPO showing they’re worth big big money. Always find it amazing the amount of companies that haven’t made a penny profit can be worth so much money.

Yes it's odd. And I'm no financial expert. But I do think streaming is the future, esp for 'niche' sports. I even think that PPV will be the avenue for almost all boxing shows like Fite TV type thing.

Depends what you mean by on it’s arse. It probably isn’t losing much money, compared to other countries, in the US or the U.K. but they certainly don’t have much of a subscriber base in the U.K.. The U.K./US boxing costs will be partially offset by subscribers in all the other countries where DAZN is available but doesn’t have other sports available. I’m not saying random countries will have 100,000 subscribers but 10,000 here and there will add up and help fund the U.K. shows.

For the owner to have bottomless pockets, surely he must have been shrewd and ruthless to become so rich. So with this is in mind he surely must be looking at DAZN UK business model and thought this can no longer continue … in comes the idea of buying out BT Sport and the lucrative football contracts.

Buying out BT Sport also buys a little more time for boxing to improve its viewing figures before the plug to be eventually pulled.

Boxing in the UK Is nowhere near as popular as it is in the states and mexico.

Boxing on Sky Sports is more popular than DAZN … just look at the advertising on the Sky platform in comparison to zilch about DAZN shows.

I could go on and refer to my statement that boxing on DAZN is bang in trouble.

Disagree or slightly short memory. Remember Joshua vs Whyte - they had load of documentaries, they even had an Gloves are Off for the Undercard. Haye vs Bellew the same and AJ vs Klitchscko - so much content.
