its a bit ironic isnt it, that so many of the arguments for khan winning are based around him being more durable than brook, who woulda thunk !

For the record i dont think khan is more durable than brook. I think he is a better boxer though (was at least)... and im betting on them both being brittal. So im betting khan, the better boxer lands the good shot first. (im also betting that way cause i got 5-1 on khan by KO couple weeks ago...)

Same here, both vulnerable but i'm expecting Khan to start very fast like he always does and can see Brook getting caught and wobbled, maybe even pick up some eye damage early, would love Brook to ko him though, don't like Khan and never have.

I’m surprised people are really thinking Khan can win by stoppage. I’ve never really thought the move up in weight to welter suited him very much, and his abilities there were always a bit of a mirage. Surely the naturally stronger Brook will walk him down, land and stop him eventually.

agree, i think almost any problem you can point toward with brook is even worse for khan. khan was poor like 5 years ago on his butt vs sam vargas and now hasnt fought in 3 years. he was trying promoting and other ventures and was basically retired. i don't expect him to be nearly as fast as before.

would this supposedly vastly faded brook have an issue with sam vargas?

for me brook wins pretty handily. excellent fighters got to him, much much lesser guys got to khan. ya he got stopped last fight but he was boxing well (ahead after 3! baby) and the skills looked fine, defo good enough to be timing and catching a 3 years out khan.im not convinced that a few khan flurries will basically crush his face

would brook even today have an issue with vargas?

There is a bit of an urban myth that Khan has an exciting style, don't get me wrong he's must watch but that's due to his vulnerabilities, he can be great to watch when in full flow I suppose but he doesn't get clipped because he can't help but get involved in a tear up, he has zero inside game, the reason he gets clipped is because he's defensively poor at the top level and his hands are to fast for his brain

He'll try box on his toes for 12 here ,pot shotting and letting occasional flurries go, Brook better technically, has size, strength, power, timing, IQ and should get Khan out of there before the 6th

ya, and brook's timing is really good, always made him an accurate puncher, even vs ggg, porter, spence, and crawford. timing is the best counter to a fast opponent

so i am actually pretty confident here, which inevitably means khan will win :oo

Expecting a win for Brook, before 7.

I don't think Khan has the legs for it anymore, too box around the outside, using his speed of hand. Outside of that he hasn't got much else.

I expect it to drag into a toe to toe affair, and for me Brook wins every time in that scenario.

I just hope Brook's face going to hold up when he's hit, because that loss to Crawford loss is definitely putting some doubt in my mind. Even though in a lot of ways Khan's defeat was as bad if not worse.

I’m thinking the same here.

I also thought Kell looked more healthy at the weigh in surprisingly and that Khan’s body looked older than in his previous fights. I know he is older but I’ve got a feeling Khan may look completely past it.

Obviously you can decieve yourself when you think a certain result will happen, but now the fight's upon us Khan doesn't seem to exude the same confidence he did before camp. I wonder if he's getting twitchy at the thought of getting retired by his alleged inferior via hellish kayo?

He must know that he's one mistake away from a humiliating loss, and that he's prone to making mistakes?

All through the evening Sky will be replaying those various clips of Khan smirking condescendingly at Kell, calling him jealous, boasting about schooling him in a teenage spar. He really needs to deliver tonight or its going to be a clickbait 'When trash talkers get their come uppance' YT clip with hundreds of millions of views for the rest of his life.

Khan could fake an injury and look for a way out. mid fight. If he feels he is losing and going to get knocked out, hell look for a way out

He’s done that once already. The old corner retirement and then retire scenario. I remember Khan when he was 17 on Super Stars. Running 800 metres in 2.12. Just seemed like a decent athlete for a boxer. Strange old career - terrific hand speed but also so many flaws. It’s amazing he achieved what he did considering.

I’m not surprised. Maybe the fastest hands in history, great jab, good footwork and a lot of heart. His chin has let him down but usually at a high level and he’s beaten some good fighters.
He’s one of the best we have produced.
Probably the most exciting.

I don’t think he’s one of the best we’ve produced. He’s perhaps one of the most popular I suppose. Part is of the issue is the chin obviously, but also he is quite underpowered. I think that first Prescott defeat was in some part driven by the fact he’d put on a bit of muscle and was actually led to believe that he was now a puncher, (when he really wasn’t.)

Not the best but his resumes up there with the best UK's had to offer, a genuine star in America, also probably the quickest we've ever had and have we ever had a teenager medal at Olympics before??

Fair enough.
The Prescott defeat was a bad one tbh but people forget it was down at lightweight and he looked more sturdier at light welter.
He’s a former unified world champion, beaten like 10 former world champions and had his big win and moment vs Maidana,
I think his skills get underrated and maybe he did have a lack of power but I don’t think it was as bad as people made out; look at what he did to Maidana in the 1st round.
Weird how him and Brook’s career have mirrored. Similar wins, similar losses.

I don’t know enough about this stuff, but I would guess partly what makes say Josh Taylor a much better fighter is that boxing IQ. I think in the heat of battle Taylor reads what’s in front of him much better, whereas Khan will keep just thinking about himself and not make any adjustments or properly pay attention to what’s changing.
