A fight that bugged me was Foreman-Moorer.

The shot that KO'd Moorer always looked fishy to me. Moorer's reaction. I was glad George won but I don't know....

Then there was Myweather-Judah. Mayweather's team entered the ring. That's a DQ. But slowly it became apparent that once Floyd was promoter the refs were in his pocket.

This.

Clear DQ.

have seen a boxer being DQ'd when his trainer entered the right a little early at the end of the round.

This was a full blown scuffle.

Always thought this myself.

Didn't look powerful. But maybe there was a lot of power behind it. Moorer looked a little shattered on the floor.

If you were aggressive and allowed him to counter then he would chop you up. He didn't like to lead. It's why he struggled with Duran, Finnegan etc...

Leonard was the face of the sport and just like all the top fighters since he skewed the odds in his favour whenever he could. Look at what followed... Jones, Mayweather, Klitschko, Alvarez, etc... They all built on what Leonard did.

He also wanted the 4 world titles record thing... It was complete bu11sh1t. And he stopped being my favourite fighter at that point.
He "skewed the odds in his favour whenever he could" what specifically does that mean?

He wanted the 4 world titles record thing. Doubt he cared about that at all.
Of course having two titles at stake for the Lalonde fight was bullshit. It was simply to build up interest in the fight. Can't believe he stopped being your favorite fighter over that.

For the life of me, I have never understood what people have against Leonard. When he was actually fighting, literally everyone I knew who followed the sport liked him. Everyone.
Duran was always a total a$$hole, dirty fighter, excuse maker, and quitter.
Hagler was a big crybaby.

Leonard was a guy who fought clean, wasn't a crybaby, went out of his way to fight the best.

It was a hard punch that cleanly. He did have to get stiches from it. Would a guy with a good chin got up from that? Yes. Moorer simply had a weak chin.

What always gets lost in the shuffle about that fight is that up to the point of the knockdown, Moorer probably was fighting the best fight of his career.

it looks questionable at first glance for sure............but replay shows it landing clean on the point of mm's chin and swiveling it. and you dont have to put a lot into those when you can punch and your opponents not got a good chin.

.......plus it was late in the fight and fatigue played a natural part in the proceedings.

did you notice Michael Moorer's mouth bleeding profusley
when he was on the canvas after that punch landed ?
to quote George Chuvalo.

Actually the Moorer-Tua fight bothered me. Certainly didn't look like he got hit that hard at all.

Top Rank recently uploaded the Foreman Moorer KO high def with no commentary. It's a perfect punch on a stationary, relatively fragile target.

Foreman really does thread it through with force and venom. Listen to the sound of it. That's a legitimate KO, no doubt about it.

Really!? Could Tua throw anything but hard shots?

He was 35 years old and trapped on the ropes, Tua unloaded. Only thing that bothered me about the fight is I had predicted a Moorer win!

I know everyone says Tua was a hard puncher, great left hook, Moorer had a glass jaw, probably past it. End of story. Nothing to see here.

but watch what actually happens. Everything about it looks off. By itself, one thing might not seem strange. Put it all together and it's just off.
Moorer does virtually nothing offensively. He shows no lateral movement twice backs himself into the ropes for no reason. About 15 seconds in, Moorer takes what looks to be a decent punch without any problem. (It looks more damaging than the one that sent him down.)
Then look at the finish in slow motion. He went started going down after one punch that didn't look that hard. The next punch might have grazed the top of his head if anything as he went down. He laid on the canvas like he had just been nailed with giant haymakers.

Not saying that Moorer flat out threw the fight. (Or would have won anyway). He just didn't seem mentally in the fight at all. It's hard to say if he was intimidated or what.

This just didn't seem to be a case of a hard puncher blowing out a guy with a glass jaw. There seems to be more going on here. Again, not saying that Tua couldn't have done this later anyway.
Emmanual Steward mentioned that Moorer didn't like boxing. Was Moorer's heart (or his mind for that matter) in this fight?

You know, pals, probably all those Moorer's KOs ain't no KOs at all. Moorer's chin being weak is the biggest conspiracy of all times. That Foreman's punch and Tua's one weren't the only strange cases.

Look at those Holyfield's knockdowns. Michael clearly wasn't hurt in the first fight after the knockdown. He spent an ending of the fight so lethargic and that looked strange too. I'll tell ya, he for sure was bribed to throw the fight, but he was too bad of an actor and failed. First he failed to pretend being hurt during that knockdown, so he got up and had to continue. Later in the fight he simply tried to lose rounds, but Holyfield was so bad that night and Michael eventually won.

And those multiple knockdowns in the rematch. You can't roll on the floor all over again like that. He simply was failing to act good time after time, so that eventually he had to go down many times in order to finally succeed. He was bribed for sure, but for the second time the boxing mafia probably threatened him convincingly enough, so he desperately struggled to dive.

That's what Moorer was about. He was bribed to throw all those fight, against Foreman, Holyfield, Tua. It wasn't about chin at all. Michael was a corrupt fighter guided by the boxing mob.

I am with Ezzard that the Lalonde fight was what turned me from Leonard who was a true great fighter.

And I remember watching the Foreman x Moore fight and rooting for Foreman but watching him get beat round after round til the BOMB landed. I didn't think it fishy because Foreman is one of the hardest punchers off all time and a hulk, and he had more stamina in the 2nd phase of his career.I never questioned it myself.

Don't get why people wouldn't like Leonard for that. WBS titles are bogus to begin with. The fight was promoted as for two titles; it got a little more attention that way. Nobody really considers Leonard to be a light heavyweight champion.

It was waay before my time, but I always hear the Floyd Patterson vrs Archie Moore fight ( for the vacant undisputed HWY Championship)
had bugged a lot of people.
( particulary Moore's manager. whom Moore was no longer speaking to at the time, other then necessary)

Almost anytime a bad decision is rendered it bugs me.

Andre Ward vs Sergey Kovalev 2 with Ward getting a TKO victory off of consecutive low blows really annoyed me.
