Recent issues drive it home like that circus fight with Jonas for a "world title" with what seemed like a novice on a few days notice, after Jonas jumped up multiple weight classes at 37. Reflects bad on the sport.
Congratulations to Natasha for winning a worlds title. However it just cheapens women world title holders when she is able to pick one up at close to 40 yrs old, weighing 10lb heavier than she has ever fought before and having failed in two previous challenges at 2-3 divisions lower .. against a person regarded as fighting on fumes, and another destroyed soon after.
No fan of womens boxing here. I watched GOAT last time ... if thats the as good as it gets then it needs to be done behind closed doors for another 20-30 years to develop to at least the standard of mens area title level.
If men applied for a professional licence the board would rightly refuse them if they were of the poor standard the typical women world champions are currently at.
In terms of big boxing bills......women are taking the place of a guy who could be on those shows. Perhaps there should be women only shows starting off in leisure centres and the York hall etc. Let the women build their own fan base and popularity until they deserve having 10,000 watching them live.
At the moment they are piggy backing the popularity of the mens sport. Should also be women refs and judges for their own fights. Let them build their own momentum.

They wouldn't get the numbers I don't think, I'm not sure how many women go to shows because they are genuinly interested, I imagine most who do go have been dragged along by partners.
